Bengals' Joe Burrow: Will sit out Saturday's preseason contest
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that Burrow and other key starters are in line to be rested for Saturday's preseason game against the Bears, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.
Burrow will participate in Thursday's joint practice with the Bears, so he'll still be getting the equivalent of game-like reps this week despite sitting out the Bengals' second preseason contest. The 29-year-old signal-caller directed the Cincinnati offense for the first two possessions of last week's preseason-opening win over the Lions, completing five of six passes for 39 yards.

Bengals' Ceyair Wright: Leaves team
Cincinnati placed Wright on the exempt/left-squad list Saturday.
The Bengals announced that Wright "has left the team to pursue other opportunities." He won't count against Cincinnati's 90-man training-camp roster.

Bengals' Myles Murphy: Carted to locker room
Murphy (undisclosed) exited Saturday's practice early with cart assistance, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Murphy initially walked off the practice field before being driven to the locker room on a cart. The defensive end's injury remains undisclosed, and the cart could just be a precaution. If the starting defensive end did suffer a severe injury, Cashius Howell will likely see the majority of starting snaps at defensive end across from Boye Mafe.

Bengals' McKinnley Jackson: DNP on Saturday
Jackson (ankle) did not participate in Saturday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson suffered an ankle injury in Thursday's preseason opener against the Lions. It is unclear how long the defensive tackle will be out with the issue. If Jackson must miss time, Kris Jenkins could see increased rotational reps in next Saturday's preseason contest against the Bears.

Bengals' Jack Endries: Catches touchdown in preseason debut
Endries caught a 17-yard touchdown reception from Joe Flacco in Thursday's preseason opener against the Lions. He's competing with veteran Tanner Hudson for a roster spot, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.
This is a roster battle for the fourth tight-end spot, so the stakes are pretty low for fantasy purposes. Endries gets points for athleticism and pass-catching ability, whereas Hudson is more of a reliable veteran that knows the system well. At any rate, either tight end would fall behind Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Erick All on the Bengals' depth chart.

Bengals' B.J. Hill: Cleared to practice
The Bengals activated Hill (undisclosed) from the active/PUP list Saturday after he passed a physical.
Hill opened training camp on the PUP list while recovering from an unspecified injury. He's been given the green light to return to practice and is on track to play in the Bengals' next preseason game, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 22 against the Bears. Hill has suited up for the Bengals in each of the last five years and is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he logged 66 tackles (29 solo), including 4.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games.

Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Plays Thursday
Jenkins logged five tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Thursday night's preseason opener against the Lions.
Jenkins participated in 32 defensive snaps, good for 48 percent of Cincinnati's total in Thursday's game. The defensive tackle missed the last three games of the 2025 regular season due to an ankle injury, but he appears to have since recovered. The 2024 second-rounder has a hard path to playing time this year, with the addition of Dexter Lawrence set to knock his position on the depth chart down further.
