Bengals' Ceyair Wright: Leaves team
Cincinnati placed Wright on the exempt/left-squad list Saturday.
The Bengals announced that Wright "has left the team to pursue other opportunities." He won't count against Cincinnati's 90-man training-camp roster.

Bengals' Myles Murphy: Carted to locker room
Murphy (undisclosed) exited Saturday's practice early with cart assistance, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Murphy initially walked off the practice field before being driven to the locker room on a cart. The defensive end's injury remains undisclosed, and the cart could just be a precaution. If the starting defensive end did suffer a severe injury, Cashius Howell will likely see the majority of starting snaps at defensive end across from Boye Mafe.

Bengals' McKinnley Jackson: DNP on Saturday
Jackson (ankle) did not participate in Saturday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson suffered an ankle injury in Thursday's preseason opener against the Lions. It is unclear how long the defensive tackle will be out with the issue. If Jackson must miss time, Kris Jenkins could see increased rotational reps in next Saturday's preseason contest against the Bears.

Bengals' Jack Endries: Catches touchdown in preseason debut
Endries caught a 17-yard touchdown reception from Joe Flacco in Thursday's preseason opener against the Lions. He's competing with veteran Tanner Hudson for a roster spot, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.
This is a roster battle for the fourth tight-end spot, so the stakes are pretty low for fantasy purposes. Endries gets points for athleticism and pass-catching ability, whereas Hudson is more of a reliable veteran that knows the system well. At any rate, either tight end would fall behind Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Erick All on the Bengals' depth chart.

Bengals' B.J. Hill: Cleared to practice
The Bengals activated Hill (undisclosed) from the active/PUP list Saturday after he passed a physical.
Hill opened training camp on the PUP list while recovering from an unspecified injury. He's been given the green light to return to practice and is on track to play in the Bengals' next preseason game, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 22 against the Bears. Hill has suited up for the Bengals in each of the last five years and is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he logged 66 tackles (29 solo), including 4.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games.

Bengals' Kris Jenkins: Plays Thursday
Jenkins logged five tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Thursday night's preseason opener against the Lions.
Jenkins participated in 32 defensive snaps, good for 48 percent of Cincinnati's total in Thursday's game. The defensive tackle missed the last three games of the 2025 regular season due to an ankle injury, but he appears to have since recovered. The 2024 second-rounder has a hard path to playing time this year, with the addition of Dexter Lawrence set to knock his position on the depth chart down further.

Bengals' Colbie Young: Two catches in first NFL action
Young caught two of four targets for 28 yards in Thursday's 16-14 preseason win over the Lions.
Young ran with Joe Flacco and the second-team offense in the rookie fourth-round pick's NFL debut. Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are entrenched in the top two spots on Cincinnati's wide receiver depth chart, but Young will try to contribute in a depth role out of the gate. Young should continue to get ample opportunities in the Bengals' second preseason game against the Bears on Aug. 22.

Bengals' Mike Gesicki: One target in preseason opener
Gesicki didn't catch his only target in Thursday's 16-14 preseason win over the Lions.
Gesicki's lone target came on a pass from Joe Burrow on the game's second possession. Cincinnati's starters exited the contest shortly thereafter. The 30-year-old Gesicki is tentatively penciled in atop a Bengals tight end depth chart that also includes Drew Sample, Erick All, Tanner Hudson and Jack Endries, the last of whom caught a four-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter from backup quarterback Joe Flacco.

Bengals' Tee Higgins: Picking up where he left off with Burrow
Higgins and quarterback Joe Burrow have had no trouble connecting at practice, Dan Hoard of the Bengals' official website reports.
Higgins and Burrow were drafted together in 2020, and they've had a long-standing connection with one another on the field. The two players have had no trouble getting back up to speed with each other after the offseason, and amongst the many plays they've made at camp, Higgins reeled in a red zone touchdown pass from Burrow at practice Tuesday. The wide receiver caught 59 of 98 targets for 846 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in 2025, a campaign during which Burrow, Jake Browning and Joe Flacco all started at least three contests at quarterback. Now with Burrow fully healthy ahead of the 2026 season, Higgins figures to once again be one of the most productive No. 2 WRs in the NFL.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Five carries in preseason opener
Brown rushed five times for 16 yards in Thursday's preseason-opening 16-14 win over the Lions.
Brown and the rest of Cincinnati's starters played two drives Thursday. After recording at least 1,350 scrimmage yards and 11 total touchdowns in each of the past two regular seasons, Brown is locked in atop a Bengals running back depth chart that also includes Samaje Perine and Tahj Brooks. Cincinnati will continue preseason play Aug. 22 against the Bears.

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Plays two drives in Week 1 of preseason
Burrow completed five of six passes for 39 yards in Thursday's preseason-opening 16-14 win over the Lions.
Burrow played on Cincinnati's first two possessions Thursday before turning things over to backups Joe Flacco, Josh Johnson and Sean Clifford. The Bengals' two drives with Burrow in the game resulted in a punt and a field goal. Offense hasn't been the Bengals' problem when Burrow has been healthy, so the star QB isn't expected to see extensive action during the preseason.

Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: One catch in preseason opener
Chase caught his only target for 16 yards in Thursday's preseason-opening 16-14 win over the Lions.
Chase's catch came on Joe Burrow's first pass of the game, as the star QB-WR duo didn't take long to get on the same page. Cincinnati's starting offense played two possessions, but Chase wasn't thrown to again. Chase is expected to see a heavy dose of targets again in 2026 after leading the league in that category during each of the past two regular seasons. Cincinnati's next preseason game will be Aug. 22 against the Bears.
