Panthers' Feleipe Franks: Signed off practice squad
The Panthers signed Franks to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Franks only played one offensive snap during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers due to starting tight end Tommy Tremble ultimately being active. With Ian Thomas (calf) on IR until early October at the earliest, and Jordan Matthews being released, Franks will get a chance to continue holding down a depth role for Carolina.

Panthers' Josey Jewell: Double-digit tackles Sunday
Jewell recorded 11 total tackles (eight solo) during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers.
Jewell finished as Carolina's second-leading tackler in Week 2, trailing only Shaq Thompson's 14-stop performance. The first-year Panther has proved to be an impactful inside linebacker despite Carolina's defensive struggles across its first two games, as Jewell has logged 18 total tackles and one pass defended on 123 defensive snaps. He's expected to continue racking up tackles as the Panthers take on the Raiders in Week 3.

Panthers' Jaycee Horn: Nabs pick in loss
Horn recorded six total tackles (four solo) and defended two passes, including one interception, during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers.
The 2021 first-round pick was burned by Quentin Johnston for a 29-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday's contest, but Horn responded well, intercepting Justin Herbert later on that quarter. Horn is expected to remain the Panthers' top cornerback in Week 3 as the team travels to take on the Raiders.

Panthers' Shaq Thompson: Impresses again in Week 2
Thompson recorded 14 total tackles (eight solo) during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers.
Despite Carolina's defensive struggles, Thompson has remained a bright spot, racking up an impressive 24 total stops across the team's first two contests. The veteran inside linebacker has now generated game-high tackle totals in both Week 1 and Week 2, and he's expected to continue being a valuable IDP option as the Panthers travel to Las Vegas in Week 3.
