Top Texans News

  • Texans' Cade Stover: Expected to return to practice soon

Stover (foot) is expected to return to practice soon, possibly as early as this week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Stover is still on injured reserve after he suffered a broken foot in the Texans' Week 1 loss to the Rams, but his recovery has gone smoothly, and it looks like he's going to have a pretty good chance to play again this season. In his lone appearance this season, Stover made the start and played 57 percent of the offensive snaps, securing four catches for 22 scoreless yards versus Los Angeles.

  • Texans' Danielle Hunter: Field day in Week 10

Hunter recorded seven total tackles (five solo), including 3.5 sacks, while also forcing a fumble in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars.

Hunter was a force to be reckoned with in the team's divisional battle with Jacksonville, notching a strip sack of Trevor Lawrence in the first quarter, but the fumble was ultimately recovered by the Jaguars. The defensive end added two more full sacks in the second and fourth quarters before combining with linebacker Henry To'oTo'o to bring down Lawrence with 27 seconds left in the game. The seven takedowns were a season high for Hunter, and he is now up to 27 total tackles (16 solo), including 7.5 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery over nine contests this year.

  • Texans' M.J. Stewart: Shut down for season

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday that Stewart will require season-ending surgery to address the left quadriceps injury he sustained in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.

The eight-year veteran took over as a starting safety for Houston in Week 4 following the release of C.J. Gardner-Johnson in September. In nine appearances on the season, Stewart tallied 25 tackles, two pass breakups and one forced fumble.

  • Texans' Will Anderson: Forces fumble, sets up score

Anderson had two tackles, including 1.0 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars in Week 10.

Anderson's sack, which extended his streak in that category to four consecutive games, came on the game's final play. It also forced a fumble that teammate Sheldon Rankins scooped and returned 32 yards for a touchdown. Anderson is up to 7.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery through nine games.

  • Texans' Braxton Berrios: Minimal playing time in win

Berrios was untargeted and returned one kickoff for 32 yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville in Week 10.

Berrios, who battled through a chest injury during the preparation for Week 10, was on the field for one snap on offense and five on special teams. The return of injured wideouts like Christian Kirk have marginalized Berrios, who has played just one snap on offense that last two games.

  • Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Untargeted in win

Hutchinson was not targeted over 40 snaps in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville in Week 10.

Houston's passing game remains in flux with quarterback Davis Mills stepping in for C.J. Stroud (concussion). That limited Hutchinson to zero targets for the first time in nine games. Hutchinson's third season in the NFL has been his most productive, but the team's passing attack has been inconsistent in 2025.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Bounces back in win

Noel caught all four of his targets for 35 yards and returned one punt for eight yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars in Week 10.

Noel was more involved Sunday than in Week 9, when he played just 11 offensive snaps and went untargeted, but that performance looks like a outlier. Other than last week's shutout, Noel has at least four catches and four targets in three of the last four games.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Quiet day in win

Kirk caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville in Week 10.

The veteran slot receiver had a subdued effort in the win, and his 32 snaps were fewer than rookie Jayden Higgins, who had seven targets, five catches and a red-zone touchdown on 43 snaps. The Texans' other rookie wideout, Jaylin Noel (four targets, four catches, 35 yards), also outproduced Kirk over 25 snaps. It's been an unremarkable first season in Houston for Kirk, who missed four games with a pair of hamstring injuries. He's yet to find the end zone while failing to record more than 26 yards in four of five games played.

  • Texans' Jayden Higgins: Hauls in TD in comeback win

Higgins caught five of seven targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars.

The rookie wideout bounced back from a one-target showing in Week 10, catching his second TD in the last three games on a 12-yard toss from Davis Mills and setting a new season high in receptions. Higgins still doesn't have a consistent role in the Houston passing game, but he's caught at least four passes in three of the last five games, posting a 14-112-2 line on 23 targets during that span. Higgins will look to deliver two straight strong performances for the first time in a Week 11 trip to Tennessee.

  • Texans' Dalton Schultz: Gets into end zone in Week 10

Schultz caught seven of 11 targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars.

The veteran tight end saw a season high in targets and topped 50 receiving yards for the fourth time in the last five games, this time with Davis Mills at QB instead of C.J. Stroud (concussion). Schultz capped his day with his first TD of the season, a seven-yard strike from Mills in the fourth quarter as the Texans put together a stunning comeback from a 29-10 deficit. Schultz will take a 45-438-1 line on 59 targets through nine contests into a Week 11 tilt against the Titans.

  • Texans' Nico Collins: Tops century mark in win

Collins caught seven of 15 targets for 136 yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars.

The fifth-year wideout remained the Texans' top downfield option even with Davis Mills under center instead of C.J. Stroud (concussion), and Collins set a new season high in targets and receiving yards in Sunday's comeback win. It's only the second time this season in eight games that he's topped the century mark -- both against the Jags -- and Collins will take a 40-550-3 line on 72 targets into a Week 11 clash with the Titans.
