Titans' DeAndre Hopkins: Trending towards playing Sunday
Hopkins (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Bears, but the team could restrict his playing time, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.comreports.
It appears that the team will be leaving it up to Hopkins' discretion how much he plays, as it seems like a pain tolerance situation. The 32-year-old described his preseason injury as an "MCL tear," though the Titans haven't confirmed that information. Hopkins is expected to see a heavy dose of Bears All-Pro corner Jaylon Johnson in what's expected to be a relatively low-scoring affair.

Titans' DeAndre Hopkins: Game-time decision at Chicago
Hopkins (knee) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Hopkins officially is listed as questionable, but his status may not be known until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff in Chicago. The team has concerns over the veteran wide receiver's conditioning level, as he missed extensive practice time while recovering from a knee injury over the past six weeks. Treylon Burks would be the top candidate for increased reps on the outside if Hopkins is ruled out Sunday.

Titans' Otis Reese: Missing Week 1
Reese (concussion) will miss Sunday's Week 1 contest against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
The Ole Miss product sustained a concussion Aug. 18, and after a limited week of practice, he'll miss the Titans' regular-season opener Sunday. With Reese out for Week 1, expect Jack Gibbens and James Williams to see more snaps as rotational inside linebackers.

Titans' Chidobe Awuzie: Questionable for Week 1
Awuzie (calf) was limited in practice Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Awuzie wasn't listed on Tennessee's injury report Wednesday or Thursday, but he popped up as a limited participant Friday. If cleared to suit up Sunday, Awuzie is expected to start at cornerback across from L'Jarius Sneed. If Awuzie can't go, though, Darrell Baker could have to step into that role.

Titans' Jamal Adams: Ruled out for Week 1
Adams (hip) has been ruled for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Adams' debut with the Titans will have to wait until at least Week 2, when the team takes on the Jets at home. The veteran safety is dealing with a hip injury after having spent much of August sidelined due to general soreness. In Adams' stead, Julius Wood will work as Tennessee's No. 2 strong safety versus Chicago.

Titans' DeAndre Hopkins: Questionable for Week 1
Coach Brian Callahan noted Friday that Hopkins (knee) is questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Hopkins has been limited at practice this week as he bounces back from a knee injury, with Turron Davenport of ESPN.com relaying that Callahan indicated the process of making sure Hopkins gets his work in while also balancing his knee issue has been smooth. At this point, Davenport suggests that the biggest concern for the wideout -- who practiced without a protective sleeve on his leg Friday -- is related to his conditioning. Fortunately for those considering Hopkins in Week 1 lineups, the Titans kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. If he's limited or out this weekend, Treylon Burks would likely see added work versus Chicago alongside Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd.

Titans' Tyjae Spears: Even split coming for Week 1
Spears is expected to split snaps evenly with Tony Pollard in the Titans' Week 1 matchup against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
The Titans have consistently stated that Spears and Pollard are viewed as interchangeable, and offensive coordinator Nick Holz reiterated that again Wednesday. He did note that both backs have plays specifically installed in the offense for them, with preseason usage suggesting that the team prefers Pollard in short-yardage situations. That could hurt Spears' ability to find the end zone, though he'll likely have the opportunity to make up for that with his playmaking ability as a pass catcher.

Titans' Tony Pollard: Still looking at split backfield
Pollard is expected to split time evenly with Tyjae Spears to begin the season, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Offensive coordinator Nick Holz said that he expects the backs to split snaps evenly and that each has plays specifically tailored to them in the offense. Pollard suffered through a surprisingly inefficient 2023 season with the Cowboys, but he's now roughly 18 months removed from suffering a fractured leg and showed explosiveness as both a runner and pass catcher during preseason action.

Titans' DeAndre Hopkins: Another limited practice
Hopkins (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, Hopkins -- who also was limited Wednesday -- worked with a sleeve on his left leg during Thursday's session. The veteran wideout now has one more opportunity to practice fully ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Bears, but it's worth noting that offensive coordinator Nick Holz indicated Thursday that if Hopkins does play Week 1, he's expected to have a sizable role, according to Wyatt.

Titans' Jamal Adams: Absent from practice again
Adams (hip) is not present at the early portion off Thursday's practice open to the media, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Adams spent most of training camp sidelined due to general soreness, and he's now missed back-to-back practices due to a hip issue in preparation for Week 1. The veteran safety will only have one more opportunity to upgrade his practice level ahead of Sunday's contest against the Bears. If Adams can't go, Julius Wood will stand to step up as Tennessee's No. 2 strong safety.
