  • Bears' Tyrique Stevenson: Practices Thursday

Stevenson (undisclosed) returned to practice Thursday following a week-long absence, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The cornerback has been dealing with the injury since exiting practice Aug. 11. In his return Thursday, Stevenson was able to take limited reps against the Bengals' receivers during a joint session. Stevenson is a projected starter at cornerback across from Jaylon Johnson.

  • Bears' Tyson Bagent: Considered week-to-week

Bagent is still dealing with a hamstring injury and did not join the team on its trip to Cincinnati for a preseason game this Saturday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Bears coach Ben Johnson referred to Bagent as "week-to-week," per Cronin. The backup quarterback suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason win over Cleveland. Case Keenum and Miller Moss should see most of the action at quarterback against the Bengals with Bagent away from the team, though it's unclear if starter Caleb Williams will play.

  • Bears' Nikola Kalinic: Reverts to IR

Kalinic (knee) reverted to the Bears' injured reserve list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Kalinic was waived/injured by the Bears on Monday and cleared waivers. The tight end suffered a knee injury during last Saturday's preseason win over the Browns. Kalinic will now spend the entirety of the 2026 season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury designation.

  • Bears' Zavion Thomas: Back in action

Thomas (knee) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Thomas had been dealing with some knee soreness. The wide receiver is back in action after just about a week's absence. Thomas is competing to be a first-team option at wide receiver, with Kalif Raymond and Jahdae Walker as the primary competition. The 22-year-old's prompt return to the field means he can continue to display his special teams and offensive versatility throughout the preseason. The rookie third-rounder's next opportunity to prove himself should come in Saturday's preseason showdown with the Bengals.

  • Bears' Tyson Bagent: Bothered by hamstring injury

Bagent suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's preseason win over Cleveland, making him unlikely to practice or play this week, Mark Carman of CHGO Bears reports.

With Bagent unlikely to play in the Bears' second preseason game Saturday against the Bengals, Case Keenum and Miller Moss figure to take most of the QB snaps. Coach Ben Johnson hasn't yet said if Caleb Williams and other starters will play.

  • Bears' Kyle Monangai: Deemed week-to-week by coach

Monangai (knee) is considered week-to-week, Adam Jahns of AllCHGO.com reports.

The second-year back suffered a hyperextended knee during Sunday's practice, and now coach Ben Johnson has offered a loose timeline for Monangai's return. There are still nearly four full weeks until the Bears' regular-season opener against the Panthers, so Monangai has a chance to avoid missing any real games. For now, Roschon Johnson will get additional work behind D'Andre Swift in the Bears' backfield.

  • Bears' Marcus Davenport: Heading to Windy City

The Bears signed Davenport to a contract Monday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Davenport will reunite with Dennis Allen, with the duo having previously worked together in New Orleans. Davenport appeared in only eight regular-season games for the Lions in 2025 due to a shoulder injury, finishing with 14 tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks. The 2018 first-rounder gives the Bears rotational depth at defensive end behind projected starters Dayo Odeyingbo and Montez Sweat.

  • Bears' Kyle Monangai: Diagnosed with hyperextended knee

Monangai hyperextended his right knee at Sunday's practice, and he's expected to be sidelined multiple weeks, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Monangai was able to walk off the practice field under his own power Sunday after he was tackled from behind by Bears defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported afterward that Monangai's knee was structurally sound, but an MRI has revealed the extent of the issue. With almost four weeks remaining before the Bears open the regular season at Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 13, he seemingly will have enough time to get healthy for that contest. In the meantime, Monangai will focus on rehab with Week 1 in mind.
