Manager Torey Lovullo announced Sunday that Soroka will start Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The right-hander piggybacked Zac Gallen Wednesday against the Royals as both pitchers returned from the injured list, but it'll be Soroka who works out of the rotation moving forward. The 29-year-old has been a reliable starter for Arizona when available this year with a 3.53 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 95:25 K:BB over 99.1 innings.

The right-hander returned to the rotation Wednesday after missing two months due to an elbow injury, but he'll be shifted to a relief role after giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. Michael Soroka piggybacked Gallen in that game and will re-enter the rotation Tuesday against the Marlins. It's been a career-worst campaign for Gallen, who has a 6.22 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 62:33 K:BB across 101.1 innings.

The Athletics optioned Estes to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.

The move corresponds with the Athletics recalling southpaw Drew Rom from Triple-A. Estes was rocked for five runs on seven hits (including three home runs) and one walk while striking out one batter over three innings during the Athletics' 19-1 loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

The Orioles placed Bradish on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to lower-abdominal discomfort.

The right-hander surrendered five runs across three innings Saturday in Toronto and has a 6.95 ERA across his past five starts, spoiling what had been a mostly effective first half of the year. Bradish will be sidelined for the rest of the regular season but will be eligible to be reinstated for the start of the playoffs. The Orioles are just three games back of the final wild-card spot, but he may not be available even if Baltimore does manage to make the postseason.

The White Sox recalled Sandlin from Triple-A Charlotte to start Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

The right-hander has a 6.93 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 24.2 innings for Chicago this season and will step onto a big-league mound Sunday for the first time since early August. It's likely just a spot start for Sandlin given that the rest of the rotation is currently in good health.

Manager Mark Kotsay said after Saturday's game against the Mariners that Jump has a shoulder impingement and will be re-evaluated Sunday, Theo DeRosa of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander felt some tightness while throwing in the bullpen prior to Saturday's start, but he pitched through it and was dealt his 11th loss of the campaign after giving up five runs across two innings. The A's figure to be cautious with Jump down the stretch as his rookie campaign nears the finish line.

Irvin will no longer start Sunday's game against the Angels as previously scheduled and is instead expected to pitch behind opener Riley Cornelio, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

It will be the first appearance out of the bullpen in Irvin's major-league career. After missing all of June and most of July due to a shoulder injury, the 29-year-old has gone 0-5 with a 5.90 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 32:20 K:BB over 39.2 frames in eight starts since coming off the IL.

Sheehan is slated to start Sunday's game in Miami, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The Dodgers toyed with the idea of deploying Sheehan behind an opener Sunday, but he'll instead make a second consecutive appearance as a starter following his promotion from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. Pitching for the big club for the first time since Aug. 2 on Monday, Sheehan twirled a gem in a win over the Reds, striking out 10 while yielding just one run on three hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. For the season, Sheehan has gone 5-8 with a 5.08 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 118:31 K:BB over 101 innings in 21 starts with Los Angeles.

Eovaldi allowed one run on four hits while striking out two over 2.2 innings of relief in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Eovaldi was needed for multiple innings in a game where starter Kumar Rocker was lifted after four-plus innings. The former opted to rejoin the Rangers following a stint on the injured list without a rehab assignment and is expected to serve as a multi-inning reliever. The live batting-practice sessions he threw while rehabbing lasted two innings apiece.

Nelson (elbow) allowed two runs on four hits while striking out two over 1.2 innings for Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Nelson worked 34 pitches in his third and potentially final rehab outing. This was the first of his three that he was used for more than one inning. Nelson has allowed two runs on four hits, struck out six and hit a batter over 3.2 innings while on assignment.
