Matsui picked up the save in Sunday's 6-4 win over San Francisco. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out one over a scoreless inning.

Entering with a two-run cushion, Matsui worked a scoreless ninth inning to secure his first save of the season and a sweep for San Diego. The southpaw has quietly put together a quality campaign with a 1.98 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 63:32 K:BB in 59 innings, though the closer role remains firmly in the hands of Mason Miller, who was presumably unavailable after pitching in both of the previous two games.

Latz picked up the save Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed two runs on three hits and an intentional walk while striking out one over one inning.

Tasked with protecting a three-run lead, Latz played with fire by surrendering a pair of RBI doubles, though he ultimately shut the door and secured the victory. Sunday marked the southpaw's second save of September and 29th of the campaign in 32 attempts. Latz owns a strong 2.06 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 73:21 K:BB over 65.2 frames.

Munoz (5-6) blew the save and took the loss Sunday against the Athletics. He allowed two runs on two hits and no walks while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.

With a one-run cushion, Munoz recorded a pair of outs in the eighth inning but was unable to secure the victory in the ninth frame, serving up a walk-off two-run homer to Lawrence Butler. Sunday marked the hard-throwing right-hander's 10th blown save, as he's endured a down 2026 campaign. In 55 innings, Munoz owns a 4.25 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:23 K:BB with 27 saves.

Chapman worked around two walks to earn the save Sunday against the Royals, striking out three in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.

Chapman let the possible tying run get to the plate following a pair of free passes, but he punched out three in a row to hang on for the save. The star southpaw continues to roll, having not blown a save since June 28 against the Yankees. He has a 1.95 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB over 50.2 innings, collecting 34 saves in 36 opportunities.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters that Quantrill was working through back tightness during his start in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Diamondbacks, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Quantrill was able to work through the injury and picked up the win to improve his record to 9-5, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four across six innings. The back injury can be considered a day-to-day issue, and perhaps Quantrill won't miss any time. His next turn in the rotation is slated for next weekend at home against the Blue Jays.

Bednar allowed one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning for the save Sunday against the Mets. He struck out one.

The Mets made the closer work a bit, getting the possible tying run to the plate, but Bednar hung on for the save. The right-hander has successfully converted seven consecutive save opportunities, fanning at least one in five straight outings. Through 64.1 frames, he has a 2.66 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 72:18 K:BB with 34 saves (37 chances).

Pagan earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Brewers, allowing one hit and no walks with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Pagan was called on to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and worked around a leadoff single to slam the door. The 35-year-old has now secured 17 straight save opportunities, and he's held opponents scoreless in 19 of 23 second-half appearances. For the season, he's 23-for-26 in save chances to go along with a 3.72 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB across 38.2 innings.

Newcomb will be the White Sox's opener against the Guardians on Monday, James Fegan of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Sean Burke was originally scheduled to start in Monday's series opener, but the right-hander will instead follow Newcomb after the former tosses the first inning or two. It'll be Newcomb's sixth start of the season and second in three days. He was the White Sox's opener against the Cardinals on Saturday, when he allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out four across 1.1 innings.

Scott (1-6) blew a save and took the loss against the Marlins on Sunday, allowing three runs on three hits and no walks with one strikeout while recording one out.

Taylor entered with two outs in the eighth inning and struck out Griffin Conine, but he imploded in the ninth. The southpaw opened the frame by allowing three straight hits and was charged with what proved to be the game-winning run after Brock Stewart allowed a walk-off homer. The 32-year-old Scott has struggled of late, allowing earned runs in five of his past 11 games and blowing saves in two of his past four chances. On the season, he's 22-for-26 in save opportunities with a 2.91 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 73:13 K:BB across 58.2 innings.

Soriano picked up the save in Sunday 3-1 win over the White Sox, working around a hit and two walks in a scoreless ninth inning.

Things got dicey for Soriano in the ninth Sunday, but the right-hander managed to strand the bases loaded and earn his fourth save this season. With Riley O'Brien struggling of late, Soriano has gotten a chance to close out games down the stretch -- he's now logged saves in two of his last four appearances. Overall, Soriano sports a 4.36 ERA with a 1.42 WHIP and 63:34 K:BB across 64 innings this season.
