Padres' Jhony Brito: Optioned to El Paso
The Padres optioned Brito to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.
Brito made just one appearance with the big-league club after being called up on Wednesday. The 28-year-old pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit while striking out a batter on Saturday against Kansas City. San Diego brought up Wandy Peralta as the corresponding move to sending down Brito.

Padres' Wandy Peralta: Reinstated from bereavement list
San Diego reinstated Peralta (personal) from the bereavement list Sunday.
After missing just two games after the midseason break, Peralta is back with the big-league club. San Diego gets a much-needed arm back in Peralta in an injury-depleted bullpen that is already missing Jason Adam (shoulder), Jeremiah Estrada (knee), David Morgan (knee) and Bryan Hoeing (elbow). Through 41 games, the southpaw has posted a 2.23 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 31:19 K:BB in 48.1 innings this season. San Diego optioned Jhony Brito to Triple-A El Paso to make room for Peralta on the active roster.

Padres' Ron Marinaccio: DFA'd by San Diego
Marinaccio was designated for assignment by San Diego on Sunday.
Despite appearing in 33 games for the Padres this season, Marinaccio was DFA'd on Sunday. Through 47 innings, the 30-year-old posted a 4.79 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 38:18 K:BB. Marinaccio was removed from both the active and 40-man rosters to make room for Randy Vasquez.

Padres' Randy Vasquez: Reinstated from injured list
San Diego reinstated Vasquez (ankle) from the 15-day IL on Sunday.
Vasquez is back with San Diego after missing just 16 days with a bruised right ankle. In 17 games, the 27-year-old has recorded a 4.71 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 60:27 K:BB through 84 innings. The right-hander comes back to a Padres rotation that has been brutalized by injuries all season, with Lucas Giolito (elbow), Nick Pivetta (forearm), Joe Musgrove (elbow) and Yu Darvish (elbow) all out for extended periods. The Padres have already listed their probable starting pitchers for the upcoming four-game series in Atlanta that begins Monday, so Vasquez will initially be available out of the bullpen, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune.

Padres' Fernando Tatis: Swats homer, logs steal Saturday
Tatis went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to Kansas City.
Not much went right for San Diego in the defeat, but Tatis at least prevented the team from being shut out with his third-inning solo homer. The speedy slugger added a theft of second base to round out a productive line. Tatis is up to 24 stolen bases on the campaign -- tied for fifth-most in the majors -- but Saturday's long ball was just his sixth this season. The lack of power has led to a .732 OPS, which is on pace to be the lowest mark of Tatis' career.

Padres' Griffin Canning: Falls to 1-8
Canning (1-8) took the loss Saturday against the Royals, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out four.
Canning hasn't been able to get through five innings in any of his last five outings -- he's allowed 13 runs across 17.1 innings in that span. Overall, the right-hander's ERA sits at 6.67 with a 1.62 WHIP and 59:32 K:BB across 59.1 innings this season. Canning's currently in line to face the Marlins on the road his next time out.

France went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored while striking out once in Friday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to Kansas City.
France came up with two outs in the ninth, with his team trailing 3-2, and blasted a game-tying solo home run off Alex Lange to send the game to extras. The 32-year-old's home run marked his second blast in his last three games. On the season, France has batted .268/.328/.502 with 12 homers and 34 RBI in 233 plate appearances.

Padres' Kyle Hart: Blows save against Kansas City
Hart (0-2) blew the save and took the loss against the Royals on Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits in one-third of an inning.
Hart came in for the 10th inning to protect San Diego's 6-3 lead before blowing his first save of the campaign. The 33-year-old allowed an RBI single to Michael Massey and an RBI groundout by Isaac Collins before Carter Jensen plated two runs to give the Royals the win. In 24 appearances this season, Hart has a 5.82 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB in 34 innings.

Padres' Miguel Andujar: Trio of doubles in loss
Andujar went 3-for-4 with three doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in Friday's extra-inning loss to the Royals.
Andujar recorded his second three-double game in his past four contests. The 31-year-old was able to drive in Jake Cronenworth on an RBI double in the top of the 10th to give the Padres a short-lived lead. On the season, Andujar has slashed .268/.307/.437 with 20 doubles and five homers in 244 plate appearances.

Tatis went 3-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Royals in 10 innings.
Tatis had been hitless in his previous two games before recording a trio of hits against Kansas City on Friday. The 27-year-old drove in Miguel Andujar with an RBI single in the top of the 10th to extend San Diego's lead to 5-3. On the campaign, Tatis is now slashing .281/.343/.377 with five homers, 36 RBI and 23 steals in 421 plate appearances.

Padres' Michael King: Picks up no-decision Friday
King allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision Friday against the Royals.
King pitched five efficient innings, allowing just one mistake which resulted in a solo home run off the bat of Lane Thomas in the bottom of the second. The 31-year-old King exited the game with his team leading 2-1 before Xander Bogaerts committed a throwing error to allow the game-tying run to cross the plate in the bottom of the sixth, giving King a no-decision. On the season, King now has a 3.34 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 96:45 K:BB in 113.1 innings.

Padres' Rodolfo Duran: Sent down to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Duran to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
With Freddy Fermin (head) now back from the injured list, the Padres will send Duran back down to the minors to avoid carrying three catchers on their active roster. The 28-year-old backstop has slashed just .146/.222/.305 across 91 plate appearances with the big club this season but would likely return to San Diego if the Friars' catcher depth is tested again later in the year.

Padres' Freddy Fermin: Returns from IL
The Padres reinstated Fermin (head) from the injured list Friday.
Fermin has been on the shelf since July 3 with a head bruise but began playing in rehab games July 8 and has since gone 3-for-12 with a walk and two RBI in three contests. Now fully healthy, he'll return to the active roster for the start of the second half but will remain on the bench Friday while Luis Campusano starts behind the plate. Rodolfo Duran was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
