  • Chargers' Jaylen Johnson: Inks futures deal with Bolts

Johnson signed a reserve/future contract with the Chargers on Monday.

Johnson signed with the Chargers in late April as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia. He was signed to the Bolts' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp, and he made his NFL regular-season debut in Week 8 against the Saints, during which he played four snaps (one offense, three special teams) but did not show up in the box score otherwise. The 24-year-old wide receiver will have an opportunity to develop his skill set under the Chargers' coaching staff during the offseason and will look to earn a spot on the 53-man roster for the 2025 campaign.

  • Chargers' Dez Fitzpatrick: Remaining with LAC

Fitzpatrick signed a reserve/future contract with the Chargers on Monday.

Fitzpatrick spent most of the 2024 regular season on the Chargers' practice squad after being cut by the Steelers after training camp at the end of August. He was elevated for Week 18 against the Raiders due to Joshua Palmer (foot) being injured, but Fitzpatrick did not draw a target over 10 offensive snaps. Fitzpatrick will remain with the Chargers during the offseason and will look to impress the coaching staff ahead of the start of training camp in July.

He was signed to the Chargers' practice squad Oct. 15 but was not elevated to the active roster during the 2024 season. The 25-year-old tight end will have a chance to develop under the Chargers' coaching staff during the offseason and will look to earn a spot on the 53-man roster for the 2025 campaign.

  • Chargers' Jaret Patterson: Staying with Bolts

Patterson signed a reserve/future contract with the Chargers on Monday.

Patterson was unsuccessful in making the Chargers' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he signed with their practice squad Sept. 2. He was elevated for the Chargers' wild-card game against the Texans on Saturday, but he ended up being inactive for the contest. The 25-year-old running back will stay with the Bolts during OTAs, minicamp and training camp in an effort to earn a spot on the 53-man roster for the 2025 campaign.

  • Chargers' Khalil Mack: Not certain about returning

Mack said Sunday that he was unsure about his football future, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.

Mack is set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career and will also be considering retirement this offseason. Although Rhim relays that the 33-year-old believes the Chargers are his best chance to win, Mack also stated, "I don't know if I'm going to play football moving forward, so there's some things I got to talk through with my wife, spend some time with my kids and try not to make a rash decision after a loss." Mack played in 16 regular-season games and dealt with a groin injury for multiple weeks in November, which may have impacted his ability to stay on the field -- he played just 582 snaps on defense, his lowest number since 2021 when he suited up just seven times for the Bears.
