Top Chargers News

  • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Two more sacks in victory

Tuipulotu recorded four tackles (four solo), including 2.0 sacks, in the Chargers' win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

It's been a true breakout season for Tuipulotu, who was the 54th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. He sacked Patrick Mahomes (knee) twice in the first half Sunday and has now produced 43 tackles (32 solo), including a career-high 12.0 sacks, 21 QB hits, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles on 76 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps across 14 games this season. Only Myles Garrett (21.5), Brian Burns (13.0), Micah Parsons (12.5) and Nik Bonitto (12.5) have logged more sacks this season.

  • Chargers' Odafe Oweh: Pair of sacks in Week 15 win

Oweh recorded four tackles (four solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.

Oweh played 54 percent of the defensive snaps against Kansas City, his second-highest snap rate since debuting with the Chargers in Week 6 following his trade from the Ravens. Oweh has been quite the find for Los Angeles, piling up 21 tackles (12 solo), including 7.0 sacks, and 11 QB hits across nine games since his acquisition.

  • Chargers' Derwin James: Productive in win over Kansas City

James recorded 10 tackles (two solo) and two pass breakups, including one interception, in the Chargers' win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

James played all 61 defensive snaps for Los Angeles, and his 10 tackles were the veteran safety's second-most in a game this season. He also recorded his second interception by picking off Gardner Minshew with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Chargers. On the season, James has logged 80 tackles (41 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and six pass breakups, including the pair of interceptions, on 93 percent of the defensive snaps.

  • Chargers' Ladd McConkey: Limited to two catches in win

McConkey secured two of three targets for 20 yards in the Chargers' 16-13 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

McConkey was once again quiet in the gritty road win, finishing with less than 25 receiving yards for the third time in the last four games. McConkey's muted afternoon was all the more noteworthy considering the absence of Quentin Johnston (groin), and his target tally was his lowest of the season. The second-year wideout will look to exploit an inconsistent Cowboys secondary in a Week 16 road showdown next Sunday.

  • Chargers' Oronde Gadsden: Team-high yardage total in win

Gadsden brought in four of five targets for 61 yards in the Chargers' 16-13 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Gadsden led the Chargers in receiving yards and tied for second in targets, also providing the team's second-longest catch of the afternoon (27 yards). Quentin Johnston's absence due to a groin injury may have benefitted the rookie tight end, who finished with his highest reception and receiving yardage totals since Week 9. Gadsden will take a 43-602-2 line on 60 targets into a Week 16 road matchup against the Cowboys.

  • Chargers' Kimani Vidal: Held in check Sunday

Vidal rushed 12 times for 33 yards and brought in his only target for 15 yards in the Chargers' 16-13 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Vidal logged three fewer rush attempts than backfield mate Omarion Hampton and was a lot less efficient, averaging 2.8 yards per carry to his teammate's 4.1. Vidal did at least extend his streak of consecutive games with double-digit carries to three contests, and he figures to continue enjoying a relatively robust complementary role in a Week 16 road matchup against the Cowboys next Sunday afternoon.

  • Chargers' Tre' Harris: Season-high 49 yards in Week 15 win

Harris caught three passes on five targets for 49 yards during the Chargers' 16-13 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Harris stepped into a larger role on offense Sunday due to the absence of Quentin Johnston (groin). Harris finished with a season-high 49 receiving yards, including a 37-yard catch late in the second quarter that put the Chargers deep into opposition territory and eventually led to a 16-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert to KeAndre Lambert-Smith three plays later. Harris' targets and receiving yards were both second most on the Chargers, and he would be in line for an expanded role in Week 16 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 21 if Johnston is not cleared to return.
