Michkov had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Montreal.
Michkov's goal in the second period stood as the winner. He grabbed a loose puck in front of the Montreal crease and whipped it with Jakub Dobes out of position. Michkov closed the season with goals in three consecutive games (three goals, three assists). He finished the regular season with 51 points following a serious post-Olympics run. Michkov led the Flyers with 22 points, including seven goals, in 26 outings since the Games. Prior to that, he had 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) in 55 games.

Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Heating up ahead of postseason
Michkov scored his 19th goal of the season in Monday's 3-2 shootout win over the Hurricanes.
The 21-year-old got the Flyers on the board midway through the second period, taking a slick cross-ice pass from Denver Barkey and snapping a shot past Brandon Bussi. Michkov is building up steam heading into the playoffs, racking up three goals and eight points over the last six games, but his 48 points in 80 contests on the season still leaves him well short of his 2024-25 rookie-year production.

Michkov was one of several bottom-six forwards who contributed in a big way to the Flyers' offense in this blowout win. Michkov helped out on both of Tyson Foerster's second-period tallies. The 21-year-old Michkov has earned five points over his last three outings and 12 points across his last 12 games to have a good end to the regular season. He's at 17 goals, 28 assists, 148 shots on net, 69 PIM, 32 hits and a minus-5 rating through 77 appearances.

Michkov was playing on his natural right wing Monday after a long look on his off wing. While he got a goal, his line with Noah Cates and Denver Barkey struggled at even strength. Michkov has suffered from the sophomore slump, earning 16 goals, 33 points, 125 shots on net, 51 PIM and a minus-11 rating over 62 appearances after his 26-goal, 63-point rookie campaign.

Michkov opened the door for a Flyers' comeback at the 10:25 mark of the second period with a power-play tally. He'd later score the game-winning goal at 2:10 of overtime with a wrister. The 21-year-old winger netted multiple goals for the third time this season, and he has 15 goals and 31 points in 57 contests. That said, those numbers represent a downgrade compared to his rookie year, when he posted 26 goals and 63 points across 80 contests in 2024-25.

Michkov delivered his best outing of the 2025-26 campaign so far. His last multi-point performance came back on Dec. 30, and Friday's performance was his first time he scored two goals in a game since Nov. 29. Michkov hasn't been able to repeat the numbers he accomplished as a rookie, but he is up to 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 49 contests this season. Playing in a bottom-six role limits his upside, but he remains a player worth rostering in deeper leagues and dynasty formats.

It was the talented winger's first goal in 10 games (three assists). Michkov has 10 goals, 14 assists and 45 shots in 45 games. He sits seventh in team scoring, and he's on pace for just 41 points. That's a 22 point drop for Michkov, who finished second in team scoring with 63 points last season. He finished in a tie with Macklin Celebrini for second in rookie scoring last year, but unlike Celebrini, Michkov is suffering from the sophomore flu. He'll rebound eventually, but this is not what his managers or the team expected.
