Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Game-time decision
Monahan (upper body) will be a game-time decision against Vancouver on Sunday, per Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.
Monahan participated in Saturday's morning skate after leaving Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Calgary early. However, it's unclear if he will play against the Canucks or give his nagging injury more time to heal. Monahan has contributed one goal, five assists and 28 shots on net in 13 appearances this season.

Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Game-time call
Mateychuk (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Saturday's clash in Vancouver, per Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.
Mateychuk missed Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Calgary because of the injury. He has three goals and five points in 12 appearances with the Blue Jackets in 2025-26. If Mateychuk is able to return Saturday, then Dysin Mayo will probably be a healthy scratch.

Blue Jackets' Erik Gudbranson: Placed on injured reserve
Gudbranson (hip) was put on injured reserve Thursday.
Gudbranson has missed five consecutive games with the injury and has only seen action in four contests this season. He has yet to pick up a point and has five hits and six PIM. The Blue Jackets recalled Luca Del Bel Belluz in a corresponding move.

Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Recalled by Columbus
Del Bel Belluz was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Thursday.
Del Bel Belluz has had a solid start to the year in the AHL, racking up three goals and two assists over seven appearances. The Blue Jackets are dealing with several injuries, so Del Bel Belluz will help provide additional depth for the NHL club. He made 15 regular-season appearances for Columbus last year, recording two goals, six assists, 12 blocked shots and four hits while averaging 13:45 of ice time.

Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Nets first career shortie
Marchenko scored a shorthanded goal on five shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Flames.
Marchenko got the Blue Jackets on the board at 6:57 of the first period. The 25-year-old forward doesn't typically receive significant penalty-killing minutes -- he was on the ice at the tail end of the Flames' first power play when he got his goal, which was the first shortie of his career. Marchenko has a goal and five assists during a six-game point streak, and he's at six goals, 13 points, 47 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 13 appearances this season.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Surrenders four goals in loss
Greaves allowed four goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Flames. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Greaves struggled against the Flames, allowing two goals in the first 92 seconds of the game. That would be enough to send him to his fourth loss of the season (3-4-0. He has allowed more than three goals in a game just two times this season. The 24-year-old has maintained a 2.89 GAA and a .907 save percentage through seven starts. Elvis Merzlikins is likely to start Saturday in Vancouver, while Greaves' next outing could be Monday in Edmonton if the Blue Jackets maintain their current trend of alternating goalie starts.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Sustains injury Wednesday
Monahan sustained an apparent upper-body injury versus the Flames on Wednesday and was still being evaluated after the game, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Monahan sustained the injury initially in the second period, but he finished that frame and had a couple of shifts in the third before exiting the contest. More information on his status should be available prior to Saturday's game in Vancouver. If Monahan misses time, Yegor Chinakhov is likely to enter the lineup, while Boone Jenner or Cole Sillinger could slide over to center.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting against Calgary
Greaves will defend the road crease against Calgary on Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Greaves is in the midst of a two-game winning streak in which he's posted a 2.44 GAA and .935 save percentage, a stretch that has continued his strong start to the season. He's alternated starts with Elvis Merzlikins early in the 2025-26 campaign, and that pattern will continue Wednesday. Greaves will have a favorable matchup against the Flames, who are averaging 2.14 goals per game this season, which is the worst mark in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Officially ruled out
Mateychuk (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup against the Flames on Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
While Mateychuk won't be in action Wednesday, he is traveling with the team and could still be an option for Saturday's clash with the Canucks. In his stead, Dysin Mayo will make his Columbus debut against the Flames. After a slow start to the year, the 21-year-old Mateychuk appears to have found his game, registering three goals, one assist and 10 shots in his last seven outings.

Blue Jackets' Erik Gudbranson: Still sidelined Wednesday
Gudbranson (hip) will not be in the lineup to face the Flames on Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Gudbranson is with the team for its four-game road trip, which is certainly a step in the right direction for the defenseman. The Jackets are also at risk of missing Denton Mateychuk (undisclosed) against Calgary, which means Dysin Mayo could be in line to make his season debut. Once given the all-clear, the veteran Gudbranson should slot into the third pairing, where he'll feature as more of a shutdown defender than an offensive dynamo.

Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Game-time call Wednesday
Mateychuk (undisclosed) didn't practice Tuesday and is questionable to face the Flames on Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Mateychuk scored in Sunday's clash with the Islanders but logged a mere 13:01 of ice time due to his undisclosed injury. With Erik Gudbranson (hip) still on the shelf, the Jackets will have to give Dysin Mayo his season debut if Mateychuk is unable to play.

Blue Jackets' Miles Wood: Finds twine Sunday
Wood scored a goal and dished out a hit in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.
Wood tallied the lone goal of the second period to level the score at one apiece. With the tally, Wood has four goals and 12 shots on net across seven appearances this season. He has been a strong complementary goal scorer for his linemates, Boone Jenner and Adam Fantilli, who have both excelled at sharing the puck this season. Wood has been highly efficient as well, shooting 33.3 percent, which ranks seventh among all skaters with four goals or more this season. He could have sneaky value in deeper leagues while he continues to strive for a double-digit goal total for the first time since the 2022-23 season.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Faces high volume in loss
Merzlikins made 36 of 39 saves in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.
After conceding just one goal in the first 58 minutes of regulation, Merzlikins looked as if he was in line for his fourth consecutive win. However, the Islanders would grab two goals in the final two minutes of regulation to pull the rug out from under Columbus, stealing a 3-2 win. With the loss, the 31-year-old netminder has a 4-2-0 record with a 2.98 GAA and a .917 save percentage across six appearances. Both Merzlikins and fellow goalie Jet Greaves have displayed reasons to be fantasy relevant despite the two evenly splitting starts through the Blue Jackets' first 12 games. In the case of Merzlikins, he has made the largest number of saves (198) among all netminders with six games or less. That fact, combined with the Blue Jackets winning two-thirds of their matchups when he starts, make him a solid streaming option in most fantasy formats. If the Blue Jackets continue to alternate starts, Merzlikins is projected to make his next start Saturday against the Canucks.

Blue Jackets' Charlie Elick: Big game Sunday
Elick scored a goal on two shots and added two assists in WHL Tri-City's 4-3 overtime win over Medicine Hat on Sunday.
Elick entered Sunday on a five-game point drought. The 19-year-old defenseman has had a sluggish start to 2025-26 with eight points over 13 contests. Offense isn't a huge part of his game, as he topped out at 27 points in 65 regular-season games with WHL Brandon in 2023-24 and had just 15 points between Brandon and Tri-City over 66 appearances last year. He's under contract with the Blue Jackets, but it's looking less likely he'll be an effective scorer from the blue line if he gets to the NHL level.

Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Banged up following loss
Head coach Dean Evason said after Sunday's loss to the Islanders that Mateychuk is banged up, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
While the exact nature and severity of Mateychuk's injury aren't yet clear, he saw a season-low 13:01 of ice time in the loss. The 21-year-old hasn't yet missed any games this year, and it's not yet clear whether his ailment will impact his availability for Wednesday's game against Calgary.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Starting against Isles
Merzlikins will be the starting goaltender for Sunday's game against the Islanders, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
It will be the 250th game of Merzlikins' career Sunday night. The 31-year-old is 98-101-35 with a 3.19 GAA and a .902 save percentage in his career. This season, he is outpacing those marks with a 4-1-0 record, 2.97 GAA and .915 save percentage. He next faces an Islanders team that's bringing up the rear in the Metropolitan Division standings.
