Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Gives up four goals
Sorokin stopped 18 of 22 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.
Sorokin was beaten three times in a 55-second span in the second period, and that was a hole the Islanders couldn't come back from. Ultimately, this defeat means the Islanders won't be playing in the postsesaon, and thus, it's unclear if Sorokin will get the start in the regular-season finale against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. He has started every one of the last 14 games for the Isles, going 5-9-0 with a 3.17 GAA and an .882 save percentage in that span.

He has a 29-23-2 record during the 2025-26 campaign with seven shutouts, a 2.65 GAA and a .907 save percentage through 54 appearances. Montreal sits seventh in the league with 3.41 goals per game this season.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Gets no help in loss
Sorokin stopped 13 of 15 shots in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Senators, with Ottawa's final goal getting scored into an empty net.
Both tallies against Sorokin came in odd-man situations, as Ridly Greig potted a shortie in the first period before Jake Sanderson banged home a power-play goal in the third. Sorokin has just one win in his last six outings, going 1-5-0 with a rough 4.16 GAA and .850 save percentage, and the Islanders' playoff hopes are on life support as a result -- they're three points back of the Flyers for the third seed in the Metro Division with two games to play, and the Blue Jackets a point up on New York as well.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: In goal Saturday
Sorokin will protect the home net against Ottawa on Saturday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Sorokin is coming off a 13-save effort in Thursday's 5-3 win over Toronto. He has a 29-22-2 record this campaign with seven shutouts, a 2.66 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 53 appearances. Ottawa sits eighth in the league this season with 3.37 goals per game.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Snaps four-game losing streak
Sorokin made 13 saves Thursday in a 5-3 win over Toronto.
The win -- his first under new coach Pete DeBoer -- snapped a four-game losing streak. Sorokin is one win from his third 30-win season. He is 29-22-2 with seven shutouts, 2.66 GAA and .908 save percentage. Sorokin is tied with Jet Greaves for 12th overall in save percentage and with Scott Wedgewood and John Gibson in wins. He will need to be near perfect going forward as the Isles attempt a playoff miracle -- with the win, the Isles moved within one point of the Flyers for third place in the Metropolitan Division. There are three games remaining for each team.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: In goal Thursday
Sorokin will get the starting nod at home versus the Maple Leafs on Thursday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Sorokin will make his 12th straight appearance in the crease for the Islanders despite having lost each of his previous four outings. During his slump, the 30-year-old backstop has conceded at least three goals in all four appearances. Still, as long as the Islanders are in the hunt for a playoff spot, Sorokin could see both ends of an upcoming back-to-back versus the Senators and Canadiens on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Suffers fourth straight loss
Sorokin stopped 36 of 40 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Sorokin started both games during the Isles' back-to-back set, but he was underwhelming and allowed eight goals on 61 shots faced over that span. The 30-year-old netminder has lost each of his past four outings while posting a 5.02 GAA and a woeful .852 save percentage over that stretch. Considering he has made 11 starts in a row (4-7-0, 3.18 GAA, .891 save percentage), it wouldn't be surprising if he gets a breather at some point in the coming days, although the Isles now have three days off before facing the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Starting again Saturday
Sorokin will defend the road net against Carolina on Saturday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Sorokin is coming off a 17-save effort in Friday's 4-1 loss to Philadelphia. He has allowed 14 goals on 82 shots during his three-game losing skid. He has a 28-21-2 record this campaign with seven shutouts, a 2.62 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 51 appearances. Carolina is tied for third in the league with 3.51 goals per game this season.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Falls to Flyers
Sorokin stopped 17 of 21 shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Flyers.
Sorokin is struggling with 14 goals allowed on 82 shots during his three-game losing streak. He's played in 10 straight games, going 4-6-0 in that span, but the Islanders need to ride him to have their best chance of holding onto a playoff spot. Sorokin is down to 28-21-2 with a 2.62 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 51 appearances this season. Head coach Patrick Roy didn't name his starter for Saturday's game in Carolina, leaving the door open for Sorokin to potentially start again, which would be his third complete back-to-back set in a row. If Sorokin rests, David Rittich would get the nod.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Expected starter for Friday
Sorokin will defend the cage at home versus the Flyers on Friday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Sorokin will make his 10th straight appearance in the crease, having gone 4-5-0 with a 2.91 GAA in his prior nine outings. With Sorokin getting the nod Friday, fantasy managers can anticipate seeing David Rittich between the pipes against the Hurricanes on Saturday, though it's possible Sorokin plays both ends of the back-to-back as the Islanders try to maintain their playoff position.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Gives up three goals
Sorokin stopped 29 of 32 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Sabres.
After winning two straight outings, Sorokin has dropped his last two starts. He has allowed three or more goals in four of his past eight appearances, going 3-5-0 with a 3.18 GAA and an .888 save percentage in that span. Sorokin has proven he's capable of dominating between the pipes, but the lack of consistency has been hurting fantasy managers. Still, he has plenty of upside as the Islanders battle for a playoff spot.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Back in net Tuesday
Sorokin will guard the road crease Tuesday's matchup against the Sabres, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.
Sorokin will look to bounce back after allowing a career-high seven goals Monday against the Penguins. Overall, the 30-year-old netminder has had a strong season with a 28-19-2 record, a 2.58 GAA and a .910 save percentage across 49 appearances this season. He'll be tasked with a difficult job Tuesday against the Sabres, who rank seventh in the NHL with 3.43 goals per game this season. Sorokin remains a solid option to start in fantasy despite the difficult matchup.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Slips against Penguins
Sorokin gave up seven goals on 28 shots before being replaced midway through the third period by David Rittich in Monday's 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh.
It was the worst performance of the season for Sorokin, who allowed just four goals on 86 shots over his prior four outings combined. March hasn't been kind to the veteran netminder, and his Vezina hopes may be fading -- he's been tagged for at least five goals three times this month, managing a 6-6-0 record over 12 appearances with a 2.95 GAA and .896 save percentage.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Leaves ice first Monday
Sorokin was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home versus Pittsburgh.
Sorokin will be making his 12th appearance in the Islanders' last 13 contests, having posted a 6-5-0 record, 2.50 GAA and one shutout along the way. While the Russian backstop figures to continue seeing a heavy workload across the last eight games, New York does have three back-to-backs over that stretch, so David Rittich will see plenty of opportunities as well.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Another strong effort Saturday
Sorokin stopped 19 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Matthew Tkachuk got two pucks by him in the first period, but Sorokin shut the door on Florida the rest of the way as New York's offense came to life. The veteran netminder is benefitting from some stingy defensive work in front of him -- Sorokin has faced 30-plus shots only once in his last nine outings, going 5-4-0 with a 2.36 GAA and .910 save percentage over that span.

Sorokin made 26 saves in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Stars.
He headed into the third period hunting for his eighth shutout of the season, but Matt Duchene snapped a one-timer past him with just under three minutes left. Sorokin has been sharp in March as the Isles battle for a playoff spot, posting a 2.23 GAA and .918 save percentage over his last nine appearances, but the 30-year-old netminder has just a 5-4-0 record to show for it.

Sorokin took over the crease in the second period with his team down 3-1. Frank Nazar's tally early in the second frame ended up giving Sorokin the loss. The Islanders' defense has been letting both goalies down in March, as Sorokin has gone 4-5-0 with a 2.74 GAA and .904 save percentage.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Posts 26-save shutout
Sorokin posted a 26-save shutout in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Blue Jackets.
Sorokin made 26 saves for his league-leading seventh shutout of the season, and the 30-year-old was at his best in a game where the Islanders needed him -- the Blue Jackets were on a 12-game point streak before this loss. Sorokin has conceded three or fewer goals in six of his last seven starts, going 4-3-0 with a 2.46 GAA and a .912 save percentage over that stretch.
