Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Scores again Friday
Jarvis buried his seventh goal of the season on the power play Friday in a 6-3 loss to the Panthers.
Jarvis tallied his third power-play marker of the season in the first period of Friday's defeat. The right-shot winger extended his point streak to four games, and he's generated three goals and four assists during that span. The 22-year-old is producing at a point-per-game pace through 16 appearances, and overall, Jarvis has collected seven goals and nine assists while averaging 18:49 of ice time per game.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Lights lamp on power play
Jarvis scored a power-play goal on four shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
Jarvis has four points (two on the power play, one shorthanded) over two games since he returned from a seven-game absence due to an upper-body injury. He was on the third line prior to his injury, but a lineup shuffle has him on the second line now. Jarvis can produce from just about anywhere -- he has six goals, nine helpers, eight power-play points, 42 shots on net and 21 hits over 15 appearances. He's a burgeoning power winger, and it's not crazy to think he can sustain a point-per-game pace.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Three-point effort in return
Jarvis scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 6-4 win over the Stars.
The 22-year-old winger wasted little time making an impact in his return from a seven-game absence due to an upper-body injury, getting the Canes on the board midway through the first period before setting up tallies by Sebastian Aho and Martin Necas in the third. Carolina appears to have made a good investment when the team signed Jarvis to an eight-year extension in August -- through his first 14 contests of 2024-25, he's racked up five goals and 14 points.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Ruled out against Philadelphia
Jarvis (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Flyers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Tuesday that Jarvis was "very, very doubtful" for Wednesday's matchup, so it isn't surprising to see the 22-year-old ruled out. Jarvis didn't travel with the team to Philadelphia, but Brind'Amour indicated Wednesday that the right-shot winger could join the Hurricanes later in their road trip, which includes games against New Jersey on Thursday and against Columbus on Saturday.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Unlikely to play Wednesday
Jarvis (upper body) is "very, very doubtful" to suit up Wednesday against the Flyers according to head coach Rod Brind'Amour, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site relays.
If Jarvis can't go versus Philadelphia, it will be the fifth consecutive contest that he's missed. Carolina has an upcoming three-game road trip, and Brind'Amour was also unsure if Jarvis will travel with the club -- Carolina wants to see how the right-shot winger responds to skating Tuesday before making a final decision on his status. Jarvis has recorded four goals and seven assists through 13 games.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Skating in non-contact jersey
Jarvis (upper body) was sporting a non-contact sweater at Tuesday's practice, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
While it seems Jarvis hasn't been cleared for contact yet, the fact that he is on the ice would seem to indicate he'll at least be traveling with the team for the Canes' upcoming three-game road trip. With a back-to-back to start the trip, it seems unlikely the winger will play in Thursday's matchup with New Jersey if he isn't cleared in time to face the Flyers on Wednesday -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out for either contest.

However, there is no exact timeline for his return. Jarvis has four goals, 11 points, 35 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 16 hits through 13 appearances this season. Tyson Jost has been playing during Jarvis' absence.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Could return to practice next week
The Hurricanes hope that Jarvis (upper body) will be able to return to practice next week, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports Friday.
Jarvis has been dealing with an upper-body injury over the past few days that has forced him to miss the last two games, and he'll likely also be sidelined Saturday against Ottawa and Sunday against St. Louis. However, he appears to be trending toward a return, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to game action shortly after he's back at practice. Whether he'll be available for Wednesday's road matchup against Philadelphia remains to be seen.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Remains out Wednesday
Jarvis (upper body) didn't skate Wednesday and is consequently not expected to play in the evening's game against Utah, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Dishes two power-play assists
Jarvis logged two power-play assists, three shots on goal and two PIM in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Bruins.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Nets power-play goal
Jarvis scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Flames.
Jarvis snapped a three-game scoring drought with a power-play tally midway through the first period, giving him two goals on the year. The 22-year-old is coming off a career-best season in 2023-24, where he notched 67 points across 81 regular-season appearances, and he's up to four points in six outings in 2024-25. It's been a bit of a slow start for the winger, but he's cracked the scoresheet in four of his last five games, so he seems to be trending in the right direction.

Jarvis provided a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Friday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.

The 22-year-old has played on the top line with Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. Jarvis broke out to the tune of 33 goals and 67 points over 81 regular-season appearances in 2023-24, and if he remains on the Hurricanes' top line, a repeat performance is the expected minimum for him this year.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Gets first goal of season
Jarvis scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-2 win over New Jersey.
The goal was a great example of hard work and follow through. Jarvis was in the slot when a Devils player tried to knock the puck off his stick. He spun around and wired the puck over Jacob Markstrom's glove. Much is expected for Jarvis this season after he took a massive leap forward in both scoring and leadership in 2023-24. His 33 goals and 67 points put him second on the Canes' scoring list last year, and he'll be targeting another jump in production to near the point-per-game plateau.
