The 30-year-old center hasn't missed a beat since returning from a long-term wrist injury -- he's collected 15 points over 12 outings since his return. Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Two points against Caps
Monahan scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Capitals.
The veteran center set up Zach Werenski for what proved to be the game-winning goal just one minute into the first period, then potted his own tally early in the second. Monahan has been locked in since returning from a wrist injury in late March, producing five goals and 12 points over the last 10 contests. If the Blue Jackets somehow pull off a miraculous finish to the regular season and make the playoffs, the 30-year-old's contributions will have been a huge factor in that success.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Tallies on power play in win
Monahan scored a power-play goal on three shots, blocked three shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators.
The center continues to thrive -- he has four goals and five assists over eight contests since returning from a wrist injury. Monahan is up to 18 goals, 50 points (12 on the power play), 123 shots on net and a plus-15 rating across 49 appearances this season. The Blue Jackets have four games left on their schedule, so Monahan could still give a fantasy roster a boost over the next week.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Pots goal in loss
Monahan scored a goal on four shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Avalanche.
Monahan has three goals and five assists over five contests since returning from a wrist injury, so he hasn't missed a beat on offense. The center is up to 17 goals, 32 assists, 117 shots on net and a plus-16 rating through 46 appearances. He's a safe bet to reach the 50-point mark for the second year in a row and the seventh time in his career, and he should close out 2024-25 in a first-line role.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Seven points in last four games
Monahan had two goals and two assists in an 8-4 win over Nashville on Tuesday.
Both goals came on the power play. Monahan's first came late in the first period off a shot from the right dot; it pushed the Jackets up 3-0. His second made it 6-3; he stuffed the puck inside the right post. Monahan has been outstanding since his return from injury. In four games, he has seven points, including five assists. He has 48 points in 45 outings this season. Congratulations to those of you who kept him stashed on IR -- Monahan is delivering like a trade-deadline acquisition.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Two helpers in return
Monahan collected two assists, one shorthanded, in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders.
Seeing his first game action since Jan. 7 after recovering from a wrist issue, Monahan made an immediate impact for the Blue Jackets as they try to stay in the playoff chase. The 30-year-old slotted right back in on the first power-play unit, and he could be poised for a productive finish to the regular season after delivering 14 goals and 43 points in his 42 appearances so far.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Ready to rock
Monahan (wrist) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup against the Islanders on Monday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.
Monahan will play on the top line and first power-play unit after missing the last 28 games. He has generated 14 goals, 41 points and 106 shots on net through 41 appearances this season. Monahan's return should give Columbus a much-needed offensive boost as the team attempts to stay in the playoff hunt.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Expected back Monday
Monahan (wrist) is expected to play Monday against the Islanders, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Monahan is trending toward rejoining the Blue Jackets after missing their last 28 games with a wrist sprain. The 30-year-old center should give Columbus a significant boost offensively -- Monahan has logged 14 goals and 41 points in 41 games this season.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Timeline extended
Monahan (wrist) is not expected back until late March, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Tuesday.
Monahan has been skating for a while, which should help him hit the ground running once his wrist injury is healed. Once given the all-clear, the 30-year-old center should reclaim a top-six role for the Jackets in addition to linking back up with one of the power-play units. Until then, Adam Fantilli will continue to see big minutes on the first line.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Suffers setback
Monahan (wrist) is expected to be out until mid-March after recently suffering a setback in his recovery, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Saturday.
Columbus will be without their top center for upwards of two months. Monahan has already missed eight games, and Adam Fantilli has thrived on the first line in his stead, but the team's depth has been tested. Monahan had played at a point-per-game pace with 41 points over 41 contests prior to his injury.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Out at least two weeks
Monahan will wear a brace on his injured wrist for two weeks before being reevaluated, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports Tuesday.
Given this news, it appears Monahan could return prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off, with a late January or early February timeline. Prior to getting hurt, the veteran center was absolutely red hot with points in seven of his last nine outings, including five multi-point efforts. Over that stretch, the Ontario native put up five goals and 11 helpers, with five of those points coming with the man advantage. For now, Adam Fantilli will get the first crack at a top-line role, though Cole Sillinger could also be in contention.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Has wrist sprain
Monahan's wrist isn't fractured, but he's dealing with a sprain. The severity of his injury hasn't been determined, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Friday.
Monahan was placed on injured reserve after sustaining the injury during Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over Pittsburgh and is expected to be unavailable for at least 7-10 days. However, he might end up missing longer than that depending on the grade of his wrist sprain. Monahan is waiting for the swelling to go down before undergoing the tests necessary to get that information. In the meantime, Luca Del Bel Belluz is up from the minors and is expected to serve in a middle-six capacity during Monahan's absence.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Placed on IR
Monahan (wrist) was designated for injured reserve Thursday.
Monahan's placement on IR will see him miss at least the next three games, though it will likely be longer considering general manager Don Waddell told reporters Wednesday that the 30-year-old center would miss time. With Monahan on the shelf, Adam Fantilli could get the first crack at replacing him on the top line, while Owen Sillinger was called up from the minors to bolster the Blue Jackets' forward ranks.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Dealing with wrist injury
General manager Don Waddell said Wednesday that Monahan will miss time with a wrist injury, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
A specific return timeline was not announced, but Waddell said he hoped Monahan wouldn't be out for a long time. Luca Del Bel Belluz was called up from AHL Cleveland and is likely to slot into a bottom-six role during Monahan's absence, but Adam Fantilli is expected to see the biggest bump in playing time. Monahan has been a point-per-game player (14 goals, 27 assists over 41 outings), so his absence will require fantasy managers to find an alternative for center depth for a while.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Set to be evaluated Wednesday
Monahan (upper body) will be evaluated Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Monahan exited Tuesday's game against the Penguins due to an upper-body injury, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time. A better idea of his status could come into focus once he's further evaluated by the team's medical staff, but he should tentatively be considered questionable for Thursday's home game against the Kraken.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Dealing with upper-body injury
Monahan (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Penguins.
Monahan took one shift in the third period but couldn't continue. Losing Monahan for any length of time would be a massive disruption for the Blue Jackets, as he has earned 14 goals and 27 assists over 41 appearances this season. More information on his status should be available prior to Thursday's home game versus the Kraken.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: One of best seasons of career
Monahan had three assists in a 6-4 win over St. Louis on Saturday.
He had one in every situation -- power play, shorthanded and even strength. Monahan also had 14 faceoff wins (45.2 percent). He's on pace for one of his best seasons ever with 40 points in as many games and over 100 shots already. Monahan has great chemistry with linemates Kirill Marchenko (43 points) and Dmitri Voronkov (26 points), and the trio is keeping the Jackets within striking distance of the postseason.

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Tallies in loss
Monahan scored a goal on two shots and won 16 of 25 faceoffs in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Red Wings.
Monahan continues to pour on the offense -- he has five goals and seven helpers over his last seven contests. He's earned three power-play points in that span, so he's not overly reliant on producing with the man advantage. The center is up to 14 goals, 37 points (seven on the power play), 103 shots on net and a plus-16 rating over 39 appearances in a top-line role this season.
