Langeliers (knee) went 1-for-3 with one RBI in Saturday's 19-1 loss to the Mariners.

Langeliers plated the Athletics' lone run on a fielder's choice in the third inning. This was his first major-league game since July 24 after he worked his way back from a meniscectomy on his right knee. He will serve as the Athletics' primary designated hitter for the last two weeks of the season since the team doesn't need to push him to work behind the plate in a lost campaign. Langeliers is batting .264 with an .828 OPS, 23 home runs, 52 RBI, 55 runs scored, 19 doubles and two stolen bases over 94 games this season.

Diaz went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Diaz logged his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 30 in Milwaukee. The catcher continues to get a decent share of playing time behind the dish in the starting role ahead of Danny Jansen. Between Texas and Kansas City this year, Diaz is batting .240 with a .677 OPS, seven home runs, 31 RBI, 19 runs scored, 12 doubles and no stolen bases over 80 games.

Kirk went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

The backstop collected an RBI single in the first inning before taking Kyle Bradish deep for a two-run homer in the third. Kirk is up to 10 homers on the season, and five of them have come in his last 20 games -- a stretch in which he's batting .288 (23-for-80) with 17 RBI as the Jays make a push for a wild-card spot.

The Athletics reinstated Langeliers (knee) from the injured list Saturday.

Langeliers was originally thought to be lost for the season after undergoing a meniscectomy on his right knee in late July, but after a lightning-fast recovery and a two-game rehab assignment, he's been cleared to help the A's cross the finish line while serving exclusively as a DH. The 28-year-old had been on fire before landing on the injured list, amassing an eight-game hitting streak that saw him smack three home runs, and he picked up where he left off during his rehab assignment by going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Darell Hernaiz was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Jeffers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Jeffers will get a break Saturday after slashing .270/.357/.730 with four homers, 12 RBI and seven runs scored across his last 10 games. Victor Caratini will pick up a start behind the plate and bat seventh.

Basallo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Basallo will retreat to the dugout Saturday after going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during Friday's series opener. Carlos Narvaez will start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Dingler isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Dingler will get a breather after snapping his power drought with a two-run home run during Friday's victory. Eduardo Valencia will fill in at catcher and bat fifth.

Dingler went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-2 win over the Rockies.

Dingler recorded his 27th home run of the season in the sixth inning, which snapped a 28-game streak without a long ball. During that power drought, the Detroit catcher slashed just .123/.174/.151 with seven RBI and 29 strikeouts. Even with that slump, Dingler still leads the Tigers in homers and is second in the majors in long balls among backstops, which is a testament to just how well he was playing earlier in the year.

Jensen went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored during the Royals' 3-2 win over the Red Sox on Friday.

Jensen came around to score in the first inning on a Salvador Perez RBI single. The former added an RBI double of his own in the third before coming home to score later in the frame for what turned out to be the game-winning run. It was Jensen's fourth multi-hit game of September, and so far this month, he's gone 12-for-34 (.353) with 11 extra-base hits (including four home runs), nine RBI and 11 runs scored.

Diaz is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Arizona.

Diaz will sit out for Friday's series opener against Arizona as he misses his second consecutive game. Danny Jansen will once again fill in behind the plate and bat ninth for Texas.
