The Angels traded O'Hoppe and Chase Silseth to the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league infielder Angel Arredondo, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

O'Hoppe had been losing playing time with the Angels to Tyler Heineman, and the former will now find a new home on a Rangers squad that's currently navigating injuries to Danny Jansen (forearm) and Kyle Higashioka (forearm). O'Hoppe's offensive output has taken a step back this season, as he's slashing just .209/.271/.295 with four homers, 23 RBI and 20 runs scored through 256 plate appearances. He and Elias Diaz could split reps behind the plate while the Rangers wait for their other backstops to get healthy.

Clark, who homered in Wednesday's game against Columbus, is batting .338 with five long balls in 19 games this month for Triple-A Toledo.

Clark scuffled a little bit through the end of May and only had two home runs in his first 50 games of the season, but he's now gone deep nine times in his last 40 contests, and he's batting .276 with an .801 OPS overall. The talented 21-year-old remains one of the top prospects in baseball, and his recent stretch could set him up for his MLB debut later in the year, particularly if the Tigers fade out of contention and decide to prioritize younger players.

The Angels traded Silseth and Logan O'Hoppe to the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league infielder Angel Arredondo, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Silseth has enjoyed one of the best campaigns of his career this year, posting a 2.72 ERA and 48:22 K:BB over 39.2 innings with the Angels. Now with the Rangers, he's unlikely to pry the closer job away from Jacob Latz, but he should continue to work fairly often in high-leverage situations.

Anderson allowed two runs on a hit and a walk across 1.1 innings of relief and was charged with a blown save in Wednesday's 10-9, extra-innings loss to the Orioles. He struck out two.

Detroit starter Tarik Skubal left the game with two outs in the seventh inning, and Kyle Finnegan and Anderson proceeded to allow a total of four runs while only retiring four batters combined. For Anderson, the subpar outing saddled him with his sixth blown save of the season. The righty now has a 4.33 ERA and 1.32 WHIP across 62.1 innings this year, and he remains a middling fantasy option due to his role in the middle of Detroit's bullpen without a clear path to saves or wins.

Conine went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Conine entered as a pinch hitter for Brian Navarreto in the eighth inning with the game tied and promptly launched a two-run homer off Jonathan Bowlan, providing the eventual winning runs. The outfielder has homered six times over his last 16 games while batting .319 during that stretch. Through 42 games this season, Conine owns a .277 batting average and a .925 OPS.

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Hernandez jumpstarted Miami's late eight-run comeback by taking Jesus Luzardo deep for a two-run homer in the fifth inning. The slugger has stayed productive since the All-Star break, homering three times and batting 13-for-50 (.260), but with a 39.2 percent strikeout rate across 12 contests. Through 79 games this season, Hernandez is slashing .241/.308/.486 with 16 home runs, 12 doubles, one triple, 43 RBI, 29 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

Moreno went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Pirates.

Moreno opened the scoring by taking Jared Jones deep for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. In July, the catcher is batting .363 while drawing 14 walks and has reached base safely in all 24 games he's played this month, extending his on-base streak to 45 consecutive starts. Through 82 games this season, Moreno is slashing .308/.390/.455 with eight home runs, 18 doubles, 45 RBI, 46 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Okamoto went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Nationals.

After singling twice across his first four plate appearances, Okamoto delivered the biggest hit of the night in the eighth inning, ripping a two-run double to extend Toronto's lead. The rookie has bounced back nicely after opening the second half in an 0-for-22 slump, collecting eight hits over his last five games. Through 106 contests, Okamoto is slashing .231/.308/.453 with 24 home runs, 14 doubles, 68 RBI, 57 runs scored and one stolen base.

Double-A Columbus placed Southisene on the 7-day injured list July 29 with a wrist injury.

Gaurav Vedak of Baseball Prospectus reports that Southisene was hit on the hand/wrist area on a pitch in his first game after getting promoted to Double-A on Tuesday. The 19-year-old shortstop slashed .255/.379/.428 with four home runs and nine steals in 38 games at High-A prior to the promotion.

Varland recorded his 23rd save Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one over two scoreless innings.

Varland was summoned in the eighth inning with a three-run lead after Tyler Rogers allowed a run and left runners on first and second with no outs. He issued a walk to load the bases but escaped the jam unscathed. In the ninth he worked around a leadoff single from Jorbit Vivas to lock down his 23rd save this season. The right-hander has converted seven saves over his last nine appearances while recording 11 strikeouts across 10 innings during that stretch. For the season, Varland owns a sparkling 0.98 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 73:23 K:BB over 55 innings.
