Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Could miss remainder of season
Pettersson (upper body) is unlikely to return before the end of the regular season but hasn't given up hope of getting back into the lineup, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on Saturday.
Pettersson has missed the last seven games, and he didn't accompany the Canucks on the team's two-game road trip, per Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet on Tuesday. The 26-year-old Pettersson could conclude the 2024-25 regular season with 15 goals, 45 points, 109 shots on net and 77 hits across 64 appearances.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Return not imminent
Pettersson (undisclosed) may still play before the end of the regular season but has only started skating, Harman Dayal of The Athletic reports Tuesday.
At this point, the fact that Pettersson hasn't resumed practicing with his teammates would seem to point to him being out of action for at least another week -- though it could certainly be longer. Pius Suter figures to continue filling the first-line center role until Pettersson is given the all-clear.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Out for remainder of trip
Pettersson (undisclosed) returned to Vancouver and will miss the remainder of the team's road trip this week, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports Monday.
That timeline rules out Pettersson for at least the next four games, starting with Monday's matchup versus New Jersey. He had three goals and six assists during a six-game point streak before getting hurt in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers. With Pettersson and Nils Hoglander (undisclosed) unavailable, Pius Suter will center the top line, while Aatu Raty and Linus Karlsson will occupy bottom-six roles against the Devils.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Considered day-to-day
Head coach Rick Tocchet said Sunday that Pettersson (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day, Ben Kuzma of Postmedia reports.
Pettersson sustained an undisclosed injury during Saturday's loss to the Rangers, and he was unable to participate in Sunday's practice session. Tocchet said that Pettersson was still sore Sunday, so the 26-year-old forward's status certainly appears to be up in the air ahead of Monday's game against the Devils. Nils Hoglander (undisclosed) is also banged up, and Aatu Raty and Linus Karlsson are candidates to enter the lineup if either Pettersson or Hoglander are sidelined.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Distributes two helpers
Pettersson dished two assists, blocked two shots and tallied three hits in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.
Both of Pettersson's helpers were to linemate Brock Boeser in the third period of Thursday's contest. Pettersson is back to looking like his point-per-game self and currently has a six-game point streak. The 26-year-old center is up to 30 assists, 45 points and 109 shots on net in 63 appearances this season. While the majority of this season has been underwhelming for Pettersson, he could still have a large impact down the stretch. Given his successful track record, he should be a lineup lock while playing this well.

Pettersson notched an assist and four blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Jets.
Pettersson's point streak is up to five games (three goals, four assists) after he helped out on a Nils Hoglander buzzer-beater at the end of the first period. The 26-year-old Pettersson is up to 43 points, 109 shots on net, 75 blocked shots, 70 hits and a minus-11 rating through 62 appearances. Fantasy managers who stuck with the Swede all season should have him in the lineup now that he's surging on offense.

He's stepping up when it counts as the Canucks continue to battle for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, and he's rewarding patient fantasy managers along the way. The 26-year-old center is up to 15 goals, 27 helpers, 16 power-play points, 108 shots on net, 71 blocked shots, 69 hits and a minus-12 rating over 61 outings this season.

Pettersson scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Montreal. He also recorded four shots on goal and a minus-2 rating.
Pettersson found the back of the net midway through the third period to pull the Canucks within one goal of the tie, but the Canucks couldn't pull off the come back. The 26-year-old has scored twice over his last three games, with both goals coming with the man advantage, and that helped snap a 15-game goalless drought in which he only recorded five assists while taking 21 shots on goal.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Finds twine on power play
Pettersson scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Wild.

The 26-year-old center is up to 12 goals, 36 points, 100 shots on net, 65 blocked shots, 58 hits and a minus-8 rating through 56 appearances. Pettersson is just two years removed from a 39-goal, 102-point campaign, but 2024-25 will go down as a forgettable year on his ledger, one the Canucks will hope he can bounce back from quickly.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Deals power-play helper
Pettersson logged a power-play assist in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Utah.
Pettersson set up a Jake DeBrusk tally in the second period. The goal drought continues for Pettersson -- he's come up empty on 17 shots over his last 11 games, and that low of a volume is concern enough. He's at least salvaged some offense with five assists in that span, but that's not enough for a top-line center. He's now at 35 points, 93 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 47 hits and a minus-4 rating across 51 appearances.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Grabs apple in win
Pettersson notched an assist and three blocked shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Maple Leafs.

The 26-year-old center has just 34 points with 92 shots on net, 46 hits, 60 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 49 outings in a frustrating 2024-25 campaign.
