Top Nets News

  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Rough shooting performance Thursday

Brown finished with 14 points (3-15 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal across 27 minutes in Thursday's 100-83 Summer League loss to Houston.

Brown recorded his lowest-scoring total in three Las Vegas Summer League appearances. He also shot less than 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from deep for the first time during that stretch. Still, it's been a mostly positive summer for the 20-year-old rookie. Although Brown is expected to have his share of struggles during his inaugural campaign, he should still receive more than enough opportunities to produce right away.

  • Nets' Egor Demin: Logs team-high 21 points in SL loss

Demin finished with 21 points (8-20 FG, 5-16 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block over 31 minutes in Thursday's 100-83 Summer League loss to Houston.

Demin had a team-high 21 points, though he struggled with efficiency while shooting 8-for-20 from the field and 5-for-16 from three-point range. These types of shooting performances have been the norm for the 20-year-old during his time in Las Vegas. However, he has shown signs of growth, especially on the defensive end by totaling seven steals during the Las Vegas Summer League. Demin averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals across 25.2 minutes in 52 regular-season appearances in 2025-26 before his year came to an end due to a foot injury. While he hasn't looked the best in some areas of his game this summer, he's still expected to make a statistical leap in 2026-27, assuming he can stay healthy.

  • Nets' Danny Wolf: Cold from deep in SL win

Wolf finished with 14 points (5-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 20 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over Sacramento.

Wolf ended with only nine points in his first Las Vegas Summer League appearance. Since then, the 22-year-old has reached double figures in scoring in his last two Summer League games, though he's shot an inefficient 0-for-6 from deep during that span. Wolf, the 2025 No. 27 overall pick, finished his rookie year by averaging 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals over 20.8 minutes in 57 regular-season games. He should see routine action in 2026-27, potentially making a few starts here and there when necessary.

  • Nets' Drake Powell: Bounces back with 18 points Tuesday

Powell finished with 18 points (6-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, two steals and one block across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over the Kings.

Powell combined for just five points in his first two Las Vegas Summer League appearances. However, he turned it around Tuesday to finish second on the team in scoring behind Egor Demin, who ended with 22 points. Powell, the 2025 No. 22 overall pick, had a few quality performances in his 63 regular-season appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, though he was unproductive more often than not. While the 20-year-old is still adjusting to life at the NBA level, he will be expected to play better in 2026-27.

  • Nets' Egor Demin: Leads Nets in scoring Tuesday

Demin (rest) finished with 22 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and four steals across 23 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over Sacramento.

Demin didn't play in Saturday's meeting with the Hawks, but he was back in action Tuesday. He finished with a team-high 22 points, though he shot an inefficient 1-for-5 from behind the arc. However, outside of Demin's shooting woes from downtown, he reached the 20-point mark in his second consecutive Las Vegas Summer League appearance. The 20-year-old averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals while shooting 38.5 percent from deep over 25.2 minutes in 52 regular-season games before his inaugural campaign ended abruptly because of a foot injury. With that in mind, as long as Demin stays healthy in 2026-27, he should have more opportunities to build on his production from his rookie year.

  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Contributes 16 points in return

Brown (rest) logged 16 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block over 19 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over the Kings.

Brown was held out of Saturday's game against the Hawks due to rest purposes but was back in action Tuesday, when he finished second on the Nets in assists and as the team's third-leading scorer behind Egor Demin (22 points) and Drake Powell (18 points). Brown was the sixth-overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, but his playing time could be inconsistent in his rookie season given the number of young guards on the Nets' roster such as Demin, Powell, Ben Saraf and Nolan Traore, as well as fifth-year pro Keon Ellis.

  • Nets' Grant Nelson: Sitting out rest of Summer League

Nelson (rest) is out for the remainder of Las Vegas Summer League, per Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com.

The Nets are choosing to shut Nelson down for the rest of the Summer League. He remains without an NBA contract, so Nelson will perhaps be able to land an Exhibit 10 deal this offseason.

  • Nets' Ben Saraf: Inefficient shooting night Saturday

Saraf finished with 15 points (4-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-7 FT), one rebound, five assists and one block over 32 minutes in Saturday's 83-76 Summer League loss to Atlanta.

Saraf didn't have his best showing Saturday. He shot an inefficient 4-for-14 from the field while failing to make any of his attempts from behind the arc. Saraf, the 2025 No. 26 overall pick, appeared in 44 regular-season games for the Nets as a rookie, averaging 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.2 blocks and 0.9 steals across 20.8 minutes. Several aspects of the 20-year-old's game need improvement, and while he could earn a larger role during the 2026-27 campaign, he will continue to face stiff competition for minutes.

  • Nets' Joshua Jefferson: Quiet in debut Saturday

Jefferson ended with nine points (1-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals over 26 minutes in Saturday's 83-76 Summer League loss to the Hawks.

Jefferson made his Summer League debut Saturday. However, he struggled overall, finishing with only nine points while shooting an inefficient 1-for-8 from behind the field. The 22-year-old was selected with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft after spending his final collegiate season at Iowa State in 2025-26. In 35 appearances, including one NCAA Tournament game, Jefferson averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.8 blocks and 1.6 steals over 30.9 minutes.

  • Nets' Danny Wolf: Scores 20 in SL loss

Wolf closed with 20 points (9-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 26 minutes in Saturday's 83-76 Summer League loss to the Hawks.

Wolf showed out offensively, matching teammate Chaney Johnson with a game-high 20 points. Coming off a rookie campaign in which he averaged 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 20.8 minutes per contest across 57 regular-season appearances (15 starts), Wolf will look to use the Summer League to sharpen his game and push for a larger role during the 2026-27 season. That opportunity may be harder to come by, however, after the Nets added Julius Randle at power forward this offseason.

  • Nets' Chaney Johnson: Double-double in SL loss

Johnson totaled 20 points (9-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 10 rebounds and five steals over 32 minutes in Saturday's 83-76 Summer League loss to the Hawks.

Johnson was dominant despite the loss, matching teammate Danny Wolf with a game-high 20 points as part of a double-double effort. Of Johnson's 10 rebounds, five came on the offensive glass. He also made his presence felt defensively with five steals, while no other player recorded more than three swipes. The Auburn product saw significant run down the stretch of the 2025-26 regular season with the Nets, averaging 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 20.5 minutes per contest across 17 appearances.

  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Won't play Saturday

Brown (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against Atlanta, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Brown impressed with a 20-point performance in his Las Vegas Summer League debut Friday, though he'll sit out the second half of the back-to-back set. The rookie's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday against Sacramento.

  • Nets' Egor Demin: Won't suit up Saturday

Demin (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Hawks, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Demin will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back set after dropping 20 points during Friday's win over the Knicks. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Kings.

  • Nets' Joshua Jefferson: Available to play Saturday

Jefferson will play in Saturday's Summer League game versus Atlanta, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Jefferson wasn't available to suit up until the trade between the Timberwolves and Nets that centered around Nic Claxton and Julius Randle was finalized. The 22-year-old Jefferson, selected with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, finished his collegiate career at Iowa State, most recently averaging 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.8 blocks and 1.6 steals over 30.9 minutes in 35 appearances, including one NCAA Tournament game.

... See More ... See Less
  • Nets' Danny Wolf: Modest showing in SL win Friday

Wolf (back) finished with nine points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block across 21 minutes in Friday's 91-65 Summer League win over the Knicks.

It wasn't a great performance from Wolf, but it was still an encouraging showing considering he wasn't available for the California Classic because of a back issue. The 22-year-old appeared in 57 regular-season games during his rookie 2025-26 campaign, and he averaged 10.2 points, 2.3 assists, 6.3 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 0.7 steals over 26.0 minutes in 15 starts. Looking ahead to next season, Julius Randle, who was acquired from Minnesota in June, has a firm grasp on the power forward position, while Day'Ron Sharpe is the favorite to start at center. However, Wolf should have an opportunity to see consistent playing time in the rotation throughout the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Scores 20 points with three stocks

Brown recorded 20 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block over 22 minutes during Friday's 91-65 Las Vegas Summer League win over the Knicks.

Brown was locked in on both ends, getting whatever he wanted offensively while wreaking havoc on defense. He likely would have posted an even bigger stat line, but with the Nets comfortably ahead, he spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench.

  • Nets' Egor Demin: Scores 20 points in SL win

Demin finished Friday's 91-65 Summer League win over the Knicks with 20 points (7-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 22 minutes.

Demin shot 0-for-4 from downtown in the first quarter but bounced back in the second, during which he posted 10 points while connecting on two of his four three-point tries. The 20-year-old guard finished the contest tied for the team lead in scoring, and he also matched the team-high mark in triples made. He's reached the 20-point mark in all three of his appearances this summer.

  • Nets' Joshua Jefferson: Sitting out Friday

Jefferson (undisclosed) won't play in Friday's Summer League game against the Knicks, per C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News.

The Nets are likely giving the rookie first-rounder Friday off to manage his reps on the front end of a back-to-back set. Jefferson's next chance to play comes Saturday against Atlanta.

  • Nets' Tyler Bilodeau: Fares well with 18 points

Bilodeau recorded 18 points (6-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes of Monday's 100-79 Summer League win over the Warriors Blue.

Bilodeau was back in action after missing Sunday's game for rest. Through two games, the rookie second-round pick is averaging 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 3.5 three-pointers.
