Orioles' Cade Povich: So-so in loss
Povich (0-2) took the loss Monday against Cleveland, yielding three earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.
Povich allowed four extra-base hits on the night including a solo home run to Jose Ramirez in the sixth inning. Since a brutal MLB debut on June 6 where he allowed six earned runs, the 24-year-old rookie has pitched to a 2.20 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in 16.1 innings over his past three starts. It remains to be seen if Povich will hold onto his rotation spot when Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the IL. With Kremer likely to be activated in early July, Povich should make at least one more start, currently scheduled for this weekend against the Rangers.

Orioles' Cade Povich: Wild early in no-decision
Povich did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Yankees, allowing one run on one hit and five walks with one strikeout over 4.2 innings.
Povich walked four batters between the first two innings but only allowed one run on a sacrifice fly by Gleyber Torres in the first. He settled down and retired eight straight hitters before walking Juan Soto with two outs in the fifth frame and was pulled at 94 pitches. After surrendering six runs in his debut June 6, Povich has allowed just one run over his past two outings and owns a 3.94 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 9:9 K:BB through 16 major-league innings. It is unclear if he will remain in the rotation when Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the injured list.

Orioles' Cade Povich: Sticking around in rotation
Povich is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Yankees in New York, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
After being roughed up for six earned runs in 5.1 innings in his MLB debut June 6 in Toronto, Povich rebounded nicely in his second start this past Wednesday, when he struck out six Atlanta batters over six scoreless frames. Povich will be rewarded with a third turn through the rotation for his efforts, but he may need another strong showing Wednesday to stick around with the big club. Dean Kremer (triceps) will likely make another rehab start this week before returning from the 15-day injured list thereafter, and Povich could be the odd man out of the rotation when that happens.

Orioles' Cade Povich: Blanks Atlanta in no-decision
Povich came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Atlanta, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
The southpaw was brilliant in his second big-league start, firing 63 of 89 pitches for strikes and leaving the mound in line for his first career win before Matt Olson tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth inning. Despite this performance, Povich may be headed back to the minors if Dean Kremer (triceps) is cleared to rejoin the rotation next week, but if the O's want to keep the youngster around, Albert Suarez could also shift back to the bullpen.
