    Analysis

    FanDuel. Is this an exorbitant line? Yes. There’s only 4-5 pitchers I’d even consider at an 8.5 strikeout total, but Tarik Skubal is one of them. The Tigers hurler is in dominant form, with a 1.48 ERA over his last five starts. He’s cleared this strikeout line in five of his last six starts, and in 4/5 outings against teams in the bottom 10 of K% against lefties. The Orioles fit that bill, ranking 28th at 25.2% (the same number over the last 30 days as well). And against power pitchers, the Orioles run a 30% punchout rate. With a whopping six hitters in the lineup at 25% K% or worse against lefties, Skubal should feast. At plus to short odds, I love this spot.

    Analysis

    Shoutout to Katie Taylor from our Sportsline discord who is not only a Pirates fan but very sharp with her plays as well. She recommended this on the Early Edge this morning and I completely agree. Bryan Reynolds is hitting nearly .290 against lefties this year, and with the bullpens used a good bit yesterday, it would not surprise me to see Eduardo Rodriguez pushed a bit further, potentially giving Reynolds an extra at bat vs. a lefty. Esmerlyn Valdez hits behind him and he's been great vs. lefties, so you have to pitch to Reynolds and with the rest of the Pirates order being less intimidating against southpaws, I like taking total bases here at this price instead of the hits, runs and rbi.

    Analysis

    Philadelphia has the right guy on the hill to prevent the three game sweep in Florida. Former Marlins left hander Jesus Luzardo has the craziest reverse splits in Major League Baseball. At home, Luzardo has a 5.53 ERA while on the road, his ERA is a sterling 1.38. I'm not sure who Miami will throw out there on Wednesday afternoon, but not sure it matters. Just like the Phillies did on Sunday night to avoid the sweep against the Yankees, expect a comfortable multiple-run win to close out their final appearance in south Florida this season.

    Analysis

    Will the Phillies get swept at the hands of the Marlins, after they hadn't won a game in almost two weeks? Well my bet is no, and I think the Phillies offense breaks back out here against Ryan Gusto and the Marlins bullpen, after Sandy Alcantara completely stifled them last night. Gusto has allowed 22 hits in 20 innings to left handed batters with 60% hard contact, so I like the setup for some of the lefty bats here. Kyle Schwarber missed last night's game with a stomach issue; hopefully that's figured out by today's game but I'm thinking he may be out again. Even if that happens, I'm going to back the Phils bats to get something going after last night's goose egg.

    Analysis

    Such a cheap number at +1,5 that guess I have to even as good as former Marlin Jesus Luzardo has been on the road at 6-0 with a 1.38 ERA in 11 starts. But no Kyle Schwarber again for the Phils, who fell to 2-3 without him this season following last night's 1-0 loss. Both games in the series have been Marlins one-run wins. I'm just fine with a Philly version here. Miami pitcher Ryan Gusto has been solid at home (2.70 ERA) but won't be out there all that long as a semi-opener.
