    Analysis

    Texas is just 2-4 in its last six games but the eye test tells me they are playing better overall. Three of those losses came by five points or less. The Horns also have wins over Alabama and Vanderbilt in that span. I bet against Georgia on Tuesday and they hit a shot late against Missouri to beat us. However, I thought Missouri blew that game in the second half. Texas is one of the top free throw shooting teams in CBB and I expect them to kill Georgia on the offensive glass. That should be enough to get the win at home. I played the Texas ML -120 (Bet365). Take the ML or Longhorns on the spread up to -2.5.

    Analysis

    The line continues to move in UConn's favor but the Huskies have yet to cover the number in 2026, 0-5 ATS. Villanova seems undervalued here as their 5-1 SU on the road and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games against the Huskies. This should be a slower paced game with these two being familiar with one another as the under has hit in five straight meetings. Villanova is another strong defensive team that can create turnovers as the Huskies haven’t been as sharp protecting the ball. The Wildcats also have been more consistent from beyond the arc and will need to limit UConn on the offensive glass.

    Analysis

    The Coastal might be more treacherous than many believe, as these sides have both been wobbling after hitting January in various stages of hot. To wit: Speedy Claxton's Hofstra has now dropped three straight (all close) after winning eight in a row, and while it might not be in the character of the pride to tap the brakes a bit (especially if leading scorer G Cruz Davis at 22.4 ppg is on fire), Speedy will note how W&M's scorelines have been reducing in CAA play, contributing to recent losses vs. King Rice's Monmouth and Zach Spiker's Drexel when scoring only 64 ppg.     SEC play is suddenly hitting Vandy like a cold slap in the face, as Mark Byington's go-go Commodores are now learning what can happen without sufficient frontline presence in such a rugged loop. Byington is reluctant to dial back tempo, work the shot clock, or grind...all things that can get you beat in the SEC, which has now happened three straight for Vandy. Perhaps Byington catches a break as MSU has struggled, too, but Chris Jans is more willing to play a halfcourt game. Still, Jans might need high-scoring G Josh Hubbard (21.7 ppg) to snap an 8-for-30 FG slump the past two games to have a better upset chance. Play Mississippi State

    Analysis

    They've moved up the tip-off time in this one to avoid the worst of the big storm slated to roll thru later Saturday, though the Wizards might wish for the game to be postponed indefinitely. So it goes when ridding an 8-game losing streak and dropping six of those games by double-digit margins. Charlotte won the last meeting handily by 17 on December 23 when LaMelo Ball led the way with 23 points, and the Hornets are off of their latest impressive win at Orlando on Thursday when hitting 54% from the floor. Note that Trae Young's long-awaited debut for the Wiz won't happen until after the All-Star break. Play Hornets
