Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Goes five innings Wednesday
Suarez did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts over five innings.
Suarez allowed a run in the second inning but otherwise kept the Blue Jays in check, throwing 54 of 81 pitches for strikes while allowing only four hard-hit balls. The southpaw continues to increase his workload since returning from the injured list July 26, as Wednesday marked the first time he worked five frames in four outings during that stretch. He'll take a 3.25 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 110:31 K across 108 innings this season into a road matchup with the Diamondbacks next week.

Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Another brief outing
Suarez didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the White Sox, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks across three innings. He struck out three.
After blanking Chicago for two innings, Suarez ran into trouble in the third, giving up a two-run homer to Chase Meidroth before Colson Montgomery tacked on two more runs. Suarez, who threw 70 pitches Thursday, hasn't made it through five innings in any of his three starts since returning from the IL. Overall, he sports a 3.32 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and 108:30 K:BB through 20 starts (103 innings) with Boston this season.

Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Remains limited Friday
Suarez allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Suarez continues to operate on a limited workload -- he threw just 65 pitches (42 strikes) in his second start back from a groin strain. The left-hander wasn't as sharp in this performance as his last one, which may partially explain the early exit, though it appears he's still at least a couple of starts away from getting back to a full workload. For the season, Suarez has a 3.15 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 105:28 K:BB over 100 innings across 19 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the White Sox.

Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Reinstated for Sunday's start
The Red Sox activated Suarez (groin/illness) from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
The left-hander was originally poised to come off the injured list in the middle of last week, but an illness pushed back his return. Now fully recovered from the ailment and the groin strain that originally landed him on the IL, Suarez is ready to make his first big-league appearance since July 5. In five starts prior to that injury-shortened outing, the 30-year-old had a 2.10 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB over 30 innings.

Suarez was initially lined up to start during Red Sox's series against the Orioles earlier in the week, but his activation was delayed after he succumbed to an illness.
