Horwitz isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup for Thursday's game versus the Yankees.
With left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound for New York, the lefty-hitting Horwitz will begin Thursday's contest on the bench. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will shift to second base as a result, allowing Ernie Clement to start at third while batting ninth.

Horwitz went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs, two walks and three runs scored in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Guardians.
Horwitz walked and came around to score on a home run from Vladimir Guerrero in the top of the first. Horwitz later added two long balls of his own, taking Triston McKenzie deep for a solo shot in the third before adding another blast off reliever Darren McCaughan in the fifth. After going without a homer for in his first 12 games this season, the 26-year-old notched his first pair Sunday. On the season, Horwitz is now batting .366 with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored over 41 at-bats in 13 contests.

Horwitz is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in Cleveland.
After starting five straight games following his promotion, Horwitz has now been on the bench three times in the last seven contests, including twice against right-handers. Orelvis Martinez is getting the call at second base Friday.
Horwitz is out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox.
Horwitz had started each of the last seven games versus right-handers upon his promotion from Triple-A Buffalo on June 7 and batted either first or second in all of those contests, but he will begin Monday's series opener on the bench. Davis Schneider gets the call at second base and will serve as the Blue Jays' leadoff batter against Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta.
Horwitz is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Guardians.
Horwitz will yield to Isiah Kiner-Falefa at the keystone Friday with southpaw Logan Allen on the mound for Cleveland. Horwitz had started at second base in five consecutive games since being called up June 7, but each of those contests featured a right-hander on the mound for the opposition.

Horwitz went 2-for-4 with a double in Monday's loss to the Brewers.
The Blue Jays only managed four hits in total on the night, but the rookie did what he could to spark some offense. Horwitz has been as advertised since his promotion, going 3-for-10 with two walks while starting three straight games at second base and batting either first or second. The 26-year-old won't supply a lot of power, but his on-base skills should lead to production if the hitters behind him can get going.
