Sanchez opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out, solo shot off Robbie Ray, his 10th long ball this season. Sanchez, who's gone 5-for-11 with two homers and two doubles in his last five games, got the start behind the plate Wednesday, though he's primarily been limited to starts against left-handed pitchers or pinch-hitting duties. Overall, Sanchez is slashing .230/.379/.473 across 206 plate appearances this year with 31 runs scored and 29 RBI.

Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.
After sitting six straight games, Sanchez got the start Thursday while William Contreras received a day of rest. The veteran catcher snapped a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning by taking Braxton Ashcraft deep for a solo home run. Sanchez added a single an inning later for his sixth multi-hit effort of the season. Since the beginning of July, he is batting 7-for-29 (.241) across 11 games. On the year, he owns a .223 batting average with an .818 OPS over 196 plate appearances.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Sanchez will hit the bench for the fourth time in the Brewers' last five matchups versus a right-handed starting pitcher. Christian Yelich (groin) remains on the shelf, but Tyler Black appears to have moved ahead of Sanchez on the depth chart as Milwaukee's preferred option at designated hitter against righties. Even though he no longer looks to be a full-time player, Sanchez still carries some appeal in leagues that start two catchers. Sanchez came through in a key spot late, lining a two-run single to right-center in the eighth inning with the bases loaded to cut into Miami's lead. Brewers' William Contreras: Getting rare day off
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Contreras will take a seat for just the third time in the Brewers' first 21 games of the season, clearing the way for Gary Sanchez to start behind the plate and Garrett Mitchell to serve as Milwaukee's designated hitter. Sanchez extended Milwaukee's lead to 4-2 in the seventh inning after he took Braydon Fisher deep to left field for a solo homer. Sanchez has homered in back-to-back games and is up to five long balls on the year, which is tied with Jake Bauers for most on the Brewers. Sanchez has been serving as the team's backup catcher behind William Contreras for most of the season but was the DH against Toronto, and the former should continue to see more playing time until at least mid-May, when Christian Yelich (groin) is estimated to return from the 10-day injured list.

Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Comes off bench, slugs homer
Sanchez went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Nationals.
Sanchez didn't start Sunday but was thrust into designated-hitter duties for the Brewers in the bottom of the fifth inning after Christian Yelich (hamstring) was removed from the game. In his second at-bat, the 33-year-old launched his fourth long ball of the season to pull the Brewers back to even after they saw a one-run lead become a three-run deficit just a half-inning prior. Though he's appeared in just nine games and logged 28 plate appearances, Sanchez has been exceptional in the limited sample with a .273/.429/.818 slash line. With the Brewers manager Pat Murphy expressing concern after the game about Yelich's health, Sanchez could be primed to receive more regular playing time if Yelich requires a stint on the injured list.
