Lakers' Bronny James: No longer on injury report
James (illness) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Nets. James has missed the last two games due to illness but will be available for Friday's matchup if needed. He hasn't yet carved out a role in the team's rotation, averaging 2.4 minutes over nine appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Ruled out Monday
James (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Spurs. James will miss Monday's matchup due to the illness, though his absence shouldn't cause any waves in the rotation, as he has averaged 2.8 minutes per game over eight appearances. His next chance to play will come Wednesday against Miami.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Rejoins parent club
James was recalled from the Lakers' G League affiliate Sunday. James will rejoin the Lakers ahead of their matchup against the Pistons on Monday. The rookie has received very little playing time at the NBA level to begin his career, though he has averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 27.0 minutes per contest in seven G League outings.... Lakers' Bronny James: Assigned to G League
Los Angeles assigned James to the G League's South Bay Lakers on Tuesday. James remains on the outside of the rotation at the NBA level, playing just three minutes in one lone December appearance. He'll continue to be a key player for South Bay going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Returns to NBA club
The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Saturday. James returned to action in the G League on Saturday, delivering 16 points (6-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 22 minutes during a 119-111 win over the San Diego Clippers. Even though he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers after moving past a recent heel injury, James isn't expected to be featured in the rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Out again Monday
James (heel) won't play Monday against Minnesota, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. James has been sidelined since Nov. 17 and remains without a return timetable. The rookie isn't expected to be in the rotation upon his return to action.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Another absence coming
James (heel) is out for Friday's game against the Thunder, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. James hasn't stepped on the hardwood since Nov. 17, and he'll remain sidelined Friday. He's not expected to crack the rotation once he's fully healthy, so his absence shouldn't affect many fantasy decisions. His next chance to play will come Sunday at Utah.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Out again Wednesday
James (heel) will not play Wednesday against the Spurs, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. James hasn't played at the NBA or G League level since Nov. 17 due to a left heel contusion. The Lakers will continue to update James' status on a game-by-game basis, but he won't be part of the rotation at the NBA level once he's fully healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Ruled out
James (heel) won't play in Thursday's game against the Magic. James was added to the injury report as doubtful due to a bruised left heel, and the team has since downgraded him to out. His next chance to suit up will arrive Saturday against Denver.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Doubtful to play Thursday
James (heel) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against Orlando. James has not logged NBA minutes since Nov. 10, and he has compiled just 16 total minutes this season. His ultimate availability Thursday will not relevantly affect the Lakers' rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: Doubtful for Tuesday
James is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Jazz due to a bruised left heel, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. This appears to be a minor injury, so even if James isn't able to go Tuesday, he shouldn't miss much additional time. His last NBA action dates back to Nov. 10 when he logged two minutes against the Raptors. It's clear he remains on the outside of the rotation looking in at this point in the season.... See More ... Lakers' Bronny James: Set to make G League debut Saturday
The Lakers assigned James to the South Bay Lakers on Thursday, and he is expected to make his G League debut Saturday against the Salt Lake City Stars, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. The Lakers will recall James prior to Friday's game versus the 76ers, but he will then be assigned to the G League for Saturday's contest. James is averaging just 1.0 points in 3.3 minutes across three NBA appearances this season, so he should receive increased opportunities in the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Bronny James: First career points Wednesday
James totaled two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two assists and one steal in five minutes during Wednesday's 134-110 loss to the Cavaliers. James logged a mere five minutes off the bench and scored the first points of his NBA career. The rookie has struggled to see consistent minutes and is expected to be sent to the South Bay Lakers, in the G League, once the Lakers' current road trip ends Nov. 6 in Memphis.... See More ... Lakers' Bronny James: Hits for 17 in Friday's start
James scored 17 points (7-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding four rebounds, three steals, an assist and a block in 35 minutes during Friday's 132-74 preseason loss to the Warriors. LeBron's son got the start in the Lakers' preseason finale while dad and the rest of the team's regulars got the night off. James put together a decent performance, but the 2024 second-round pick will likely get most of his minutes this season in the G League, although at some point the Lakers will look to make history by having two generations of Jameses on the court at the same time.... Lakers' Bronny James: Starting in finale
James will start at guard in Friday's preseason finale versus the Warriors, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. With the Lakers resting all of their expected starters, James will get an opportunity to shine. The rookie is expected to spend most of his time with the Lakers' G League affiliate this season.... Lakers' Bronny James: Inks four-year deal
James signed a four-year, $7.9 million contract with the Lakers on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Per Michael Scotto of USA Today, the first two seasons of James' deal are fully guaranteed, while the rookie second-round pick has a partial guarantee of $1.3 million for the third year of the deal. The fourth year, meanwhile, is a $2.49 million team option. The contract ensures that James will be part of the Lakers' 15-man roster to open the upcoming season, but the 19-year-old will still face an uphill battle to break training camp with a regular spot in head coach JJ Redick's rotation. James will don purple and gold for the first time Saturday, when he's scheduled to play for the Lakers' entry in the California Classic Summer League.... See More ... See Less
