Lyles amassed seven points (2-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Friday's 114-97 victory over the Celtics. Although Lyles fell just three points short of his second double-double of the campaign, he was still able to haul in double-digit rebounds for the first time since a Nov. 18 loss to Atlanta. The 29-year-old veteran big man has quietly been very effective off Sacramento's bench over his last eight appearances, as he's averaged 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.3 threes in 24.9 minutes while shooting 43.9 percent from three-point land. Lyles is worth streaming in most fantasy leagues while he's hot, but his upside will remain capped by the presence of a healthy Domantas Sabonis.... See More ... See Less

Kings' Trey Lyles: Provides spark off bench
Lyles chipped in 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-8 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 113-107 win over Philadelphia. Lyles' four made threes accounted for 12 of Sacramento's 14 total bench points during Wednesday's victory. While the 29-year-old forward is shooting 39.0 percent from the field this season, he is converting 36.7 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Props up frontcourt with 20 points
Lyles supplied 20 points (5-8 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 6-8 FT) and eight rebounds in 25 minutes during Thursday's 114-113 loss to Detroit. Alex Len proved to be ineffective as Domantas Sabonis' (illness) direct replacement, prompting Lyles to step in and take a larger role. Point-for-point, Lyles has been a better option as Sabonis' fill-in throughout the season, though Len was probably a more logical player to size up against Jalen Duren. Lyles has floor-stretching ability and an accurate perimeter game that Len lacks, making him a more suitable pivot when Sabonis is off the court.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Good to go Sunday
Lyles (calf) is listed as available for Sunday's game against Indiana. Lyles will play in his second consecutive outing following a 10-game absence due to a right calf strain. It wouldn't come as a surprise if the big man operates under a minutes restriction, meaning Isaac Jones and Alex Len could be in line for a slight uptick in playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Questionable for Sunday
Lyles (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Pacers. Lyles made his return to game action in Saturday's 103-99 loss to the Lakers following a 10-game absence due to a right calf strain. He played 17 minutes off the bench, finishing with three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal. Though he didn't experience any reported setbacks in his return, the Kings could still end up holding out Lyles for maintenance purposes in the second leg of a back-to-back set. With Lyles and Domantas Sabonis (ankle) both deemed questionable, Isaac Jones and Alex Len could end up covering most of the minutes at center if neither Lyles nor Sabonis is available.... Kings' Trey Lyles: Questionable to play Saturday
Lyles (calf) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Lakers. Lyles suffered a Grade 1 right calf strain in late November, and he has been sidelined ever since. In the 10 games prior to his injury, he averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 23.0 minutes per game. Lyles was initially slated to return Thursday against the Lakers but was added back to the injury report and eventually ruled out. If he's unable to play in Saturday's rematch, his next opportunity would be against the Pacers on Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Downgraded to out
Lyles (calf) won't play Thursday against the Lakers, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Lyles was added to the injury report earlier in the day and has now been ruled out for Thursday's action. He hasn't seen the court since Nov. 25 due to his current role in the rotation, so his presence shouldn't be missed much.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Late addition to injury report
Lyles is deemed questionable for Thursday's game versus the Lakers due to right calf soreness, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Lyles missed Sacramento's last nine contests due to a left calf strain. While he was previously deemed available for Thursday, the 29-year-old forward will now go through pre-game warmups to determine his availability.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Off injury report
Lyles (calf) is available for Thursday's game against the Lakers. Lyles will return from a nine-game absence due to a right calf strain. His return comes at an opportune time for the Kings, as Domantas Sabonis (back) is questionable for Thursday's contest. However, Lyles would likely be under a minutes restriction even if Sabonis is sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Logs full practice Wednesday
Lyles (calf) logged a full practice Wednesday, and there's optimism that he might be available for Thursday's game against the Lakers, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Lyles has been trending in the right direction toward being available over the last few days, and a full practice Wednesday suggests the forward could be ready to go Thursday, assuming he doesn't have any setbacks. His possible return comes as Keegan Murray (undisclosed) and Domantas Sabonis (undisclosed) could be in line to miss Thursday's contest, meaning Lyles could, at the very least, add some much-needed depth in the frontcourt.... Kings' Trey Lyles: Nearing return to game action
Head coach Mike Brown said after Sunday's practice that Lyles (calf) is making good progress in his recovery, but the veteran big man remains uncertain to play during the Kings' four-game week, James Ham of Kings-Beat.beehiiv.com reports. "He's getting close, but he's not playing [Monday], and I don't even know if he's playing the game after that [Thursday against the Lakers," Brown said of Lyles. "He's progressing like anyone would with an injury." Though Lyles was sidelined for a ninth straight game in Monday's 130-129 loss to the Nuggets, he's now reached the three-week mark in his recovery from the Grade 1 right calf strain he suffered in a Nov. 25 loss to the Thunder. Lyles' initial prognosis called for him to be evaluated in 3-to-4 weeks, so the 29-year-old may have reached the day-to-day phase of his recovery. Ham notes that Lyles was on the floor taking part in shooting drills during Sunday's practice, though Lyles may need to take contact in practice before the Kings clear him to play again. Lyles appears unlikely to be available for Thursday's game against the Lakers, but a return at some point during the Kings' weekend back-to-back set could be more realistic.... See More ... Kings' Trey Lyles: Out at least three weeks
The Kings announced Tuesday that Lyles has suffered a Grade 1 right calf strain and will re-evaluated in 3-to-4 weeks, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Lyles suffered his injury during the second quarter of Sacramento's game versus the Thunder on Monday and will be sidelined for a significant period. In his absence, Alex Len and Isaac Jones are candidates to receive increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Leaves early with calf injury
Lyles won't return to Monday's game against the Thunder due to a right calf injury, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. He added two points (1-1 FG), two assists and one steal over six minutes before leaving. Lyles initially appeared to have suffered a knee injury, but the team has since announced that he'll be shut down with a calf issue. He'll be considered day-to-day until more news on the severity of the injury surfaces.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Goes to locker room
Lyles was spotted walking to the locker room after appearing to suffer a knee injury Monday against the Thunder, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Lyles will head to the locker room for further evaluation after colliding with an opposing player during the second quarter. Alex Len and Doug McDermott could see more chances to contribute if Lyles can't return.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Back to bench Friday
Lyles is not starting in Friday's game against the Clippers, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. The Kings will be at full strength with the returns of both DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis due to back injuries. This means Lyles will return to his regular bench role. The big man averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a starter, but his numbers will likely decrease considerably coming off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Records double-double in loss
Lyles finished Monday's 109-108 loss to the Hawks with 12 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 38 minutes. With Domantas Sabonis (back) sidelined, Lyles has started in the Kings' last two games, and he's responded with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts. He's been a good filler in the Kings' starting lineup, but his upside will likely only last while he's playing as a starter.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Fills in for Sabonis with 17 points
Lyles contributed 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 35 minutes during Saturday's 121-117 win over the Jazz. Filling in for Domantas Sabonis (back) is a tall order, but Lyles was solid in relief. He lurked at the perimeter often in the victory, drilling five three-pointers in a rare display of sharpshooting. Sabonis should return soon, but Lyles' performance gives the Kings confidence that they're well-covered at the position.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Starting Saturday
Lyles is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Jazz. The Kings will shake things up in the frontcourt with the absence of Domantas Sabonis (back), and Lyles will get the nod at center instead of Alex Len, who got the nod in the loss to the Timberwolves on Friday. This will be Lyles' first start of the 2024-25 campaign. He's averaging 4.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Scores season-high 13 points
Lyles racked up 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 127-104 victory over Phoenix. Lyles' efficient shooting from beyond the arc helped him record a season-high 13 points off the bench in Wednesday's blowout win over Phoenix. However, the 29-year-old forward is shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three in 2024-25.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Trey Lyles: Hits two three-pointers
Lyles produced eight points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 27 minutes during Monday's 116-96 loss to San Antonio. It's no secret that Lyles has had a quiet start to the campaign. Through 11 appearances, he's hitting just 28.0 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from beyond the arc. His counting stats have been low too, as he's averaging 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.8 three-pointers in 15.9 minutes.... See More ... See Less
