Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Ruled out for regular-season finale
Joseph (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's regular-season finale against the Capitals, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Joseph sustained an upper-body injury in early March and spent the final month and a half of the season on injured reserve. He appeared to progress in his recovery in recent weeks but won't suit up for Pittsburgh's regular-season finale. The 25-year-old made 47 appearances between St. Louis and Pittsburgh this year, and he recorded three assists, 36 hits, 36 blocked shots and 45 PIM while averaging 15:15 of ice time.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Completes individual skate
Joseph (upper body) skated before Wednesday's practice, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Joseph's return to the ice is certainly a step in the right direction, but the fact that he isn't working with the team yet -- and it was unclear if he would join the Pens' upcoming three-game road trip -- doesn't inspire confidence that he will be back in the lineup soon. At this point, the 25-year-old blueliner should probably be considered out indefinitely until he resumes full-contact practices.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Designated for IR
Joseph (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Joseph was sidelined versus the Maple Leafs on Sunday and will now miss at least two more games due to his placement on IR. In his 47 games for the Penguins and Blues this season, the 25-year-old blueliner has yet to find the back of the net while chipping in three helpers, 36 hits and 42 shots. With Joseph on the shelf, Ryan Graves should see an uptick in opportunities -- though Vladislav Kolyachonok figures to also be in the mix.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Won't play Sunday
Joseph (upper body) is out for Sunday's matchup with the Maple Leafs, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.
Joseph did not return to Saturday's contest against Boston after suffering the injury and he'll now miss at least one additional game. The 25-year-old blueliner has appeared in 23 games this season, logging a pair of assists. Ryan Graves figures to slot back into the lineup in Joseph's absence.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Exits Saturday's game
Joseph (upper body) won't return to Saturday's matchup versus Boston.
Joseph replaced Ryan Graves in Saturday's lineup after being a healthy scratch in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over Philadelphia. The 25-year-old Joseph went into Saturday's action with three assists, 42 shots on goal, 36 blocked shots and 35 hits in 46 appearances between Pittsburgh and St. Louis this season.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Getting top-four look
Joseph notched an assist, two shots on goal, four PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Devils.
The helper was Joseph's first point in 18 games since he was traded back to the Penguins from the Blues. He had a hard time staying in the lineup in St. Louis, but he's now in a top-four spot in Pittsburgh following the trade that sent Marcus Pettersson to Vancouver. Joseph has just three helpers to go with 37 shots on net, 32 hits, 30 blocked shots, 43 PIM and a minus-14 rating through 41 outings overall, so he'll need to show more on offense to be a fantasy option.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Available for Monday's game
Joseph (illness) is available for Monday's game against the Kings, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Joseph was unable to suit up for Saturday's game against Washington due to an illness, but he'll be back in action following a minimal absence. Over eight appearances in January, he's failed to record a point and has logged 14 hits, 10 PIM and five blocked shots while averaging 16:30 of ice time.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Unavailable Saturday
Joseph (illness) will miss Saturday's game against Washington.
Joseph has two assists, 33 PIM, 31 hits and 25 blocks in 36 appearances between St. Louis and Pittsburgh this season. Joseph's exit from the lineup coincides with Kris Letang (illness) returning after a one-game absence.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Reunites with Pittsburgh
Joseph was traded to the Penguins from the Blues on Wednesday in exchange for future considerations.
This trade could signal Nick Leddy (lower body) is nearing a return, which will require the Blues to clear a roster spot. On the Penguins' side of things, the organization gets a player back that is familiar -- Joseph logged 147 games over parts of four seasons with Pittsburgh, producing a total of 37 points. He'll compete with Ryan Shea and Ryan Graves for playing time.

Blues' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Grabs helper in return
Joseph logged an assist and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks.
Joseph missed three games due to a lower-body injury, and he had gone 10 contests without a point prior to the injury. The 25-year-old returned to a third-pairing role. He'll have to compete with Corey Schueneman and Matt Kessel for two spots in the lineup until one of Nick Leddy or Philip Broberg is able to return from their respective lower-body injuries. Joseph has two helpers, 14 shots on net, 11 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 14 appearances.

Blues' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Playing Thursday
Joseph (lower body) will be in the lineup versus the Sharks on Thursday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Joseph was originally expected to miss Thursday's contest but seems to be ahead of schedule. With the 25-year-old blueliner back in the lineup, he figures to move into a third-pairing role alongside Corey Schueneman, while Matt Kessel will be relegated to the press box as a healthy scratch. Considering Joseph has zero goals in 13 games this season while tallying just one assist, fantasy players probably shouldn't be banking on him for offensive output.

Joseph logged an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Joseph's first point as a Blue came on his brother's goal, as winger Mathieu Joseph tied the game at 1-1 midway through the second period. Through three appearances, the younger Joseph has an assist, five shots on net and three blocked shots while playing on the third pairing. The 25-year-old defenseman is not guaranteed a spot in the lineup once Nick Leddy (lower body) returns from his current injury.

Penguins' Pierre-Olivier Joseph: Ends season strong
Joseph registered eight points in the Penguins' last 18 games of the season.
Joseph managed just three points through his first 34 appearances this year, which included several stints in the press box as a healthy scratch before finding his game in mid-March while Ryan Graves (concussion) was sidelined. The 24-year-old Joseph's inconsistency could create problems when he and the Pens presumably try to finalize a new contract this offseason.

Joseph extended Pittsburgh's lead to 2-0 midway through the first period, beating Charlie Lindgren with a shot from the point. The 24-year-old Joseph has been productive since moving into a top-paring spot alongside Kris Letang with Ryan Graves (concussion) sidelined, tallying five points (two goals, three assists) in his last eight contests. He's up to two goals and 10 points through 46 games this season.
