Kings' Adrian Kempe: Tallies again Tuesday
Kempe scored a goal on five shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Kempe is up to 10 goals over his last nine contests as he finishes the regular season in great form. The 29-year-old is up to 36 goals, 73 points, 224 shots on net, 126 hits, 58 PIM and a plus-15 rating over 80 appearances. If Kempe plays in the regular-season finale Thursday versus the Flames, he's within striking range of matching his career-best 75-point campaign from 2023-24. Most impressively, he's sustained his usual level offense despite his power-play output (12 points) being the lowest he's had in the last six years.

Kempe has nine goals and four assists over his last nine outings. The 29-year-old's tally Monday was the game-winner, his career-best eighth GWG of the campaign. Kempe opened the scoring at 1:29 of the first period and added a second goal late in the middle frame. Kempe opened the scoring late in the second period. He has two goals and two assists during a three-game point streak, but that tally was his first on the power play since Jan. 29 versus the Sabres. The 29-year-old winger has remained fairly consistent at even strength while filling a top-line role. He may miss the 70-point mark for the first time in three years, but he's still within striking distance of his fourth 30-goal campaign.

Kempe set up Anze Kopitar in the first period and then scored a goal of his own in the third. The tally ended a six-game goal drought for Kempe, who was limited to three assists in that span. Dooley also noted that Kempe wanted to play in Monday's game, but the Swedish winger ultimately ended up being a late scratch after taking part in pregame warmups.
