Hanifin logged his first multi-point effort since Dec. 27 versus the Avalanche. Hanifin is poised for a larger role on the power play in the absence of Shea Theodore (upper body). The 28-year-old Hanifin made good on that extra usage, helping out on goals by Mitch Marner, Tomas Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev. This was Hanifin's first multi-point effort of the season, giving him two goals, eight helpers (four on the power play), 65 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 24 appearances in a top-four role.

Hanifin scored a goal, fired three shots on net and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders.
Hanifin put Vegas on the scoresheet midway through the opening period with his second goal of the season. He's up to six points, 50 shots on goal and 34 blocks through 19 appearances this season. While the offense hasn't been at the same level as his past four seasons, he's remained a solid option in fantasy through his volume of shots, blocks and ice time. Hanifin should continue to see top-four minutes for the Golden Knights and is trending upward offensively after posting two points in his last three games.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday that Hanifin (lower body) has resumed skating but won't play Friday against the Avalanche, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Cassidy said that Hanifin is getting closer to returning, but the defenseman will require at least one more game on the shelf due to his lower-body injury. While a timetable for his return isn't yet clear, it seems as though he'll be in the mix to suit up sometime in the first half of November.
