Timberwolves' John Konchar: Sent to Minnesota
The Jazz traded Konchar and Cody Williams to the Timberwolves on Friday in exchange for Josh Green and cash considerations, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Konchar was traded from Memphis to Utah ahead of last season's trade deadline, finishing the campaign with averages of 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks in 19.9 minutes per tilt across 56 regular-season games (eight starts) between the two clubs. According to Charania, the Timberwolves are expected to waive-and-stretch Konchar.

Timberwolves' Cody Williams: Headed to Minnesota
The Jazz traded Williams and John Konchar to the Timberwolves on Friday in exchange for Josh Green and cash considerations, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Williams will get a fresh start in Minnesota after taking a bit of a leap in his sophomore season. The 21-year-old wing played in 67 regular-season games (41 starts) last season, averaging 8.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 steals while shooting 46.8 percent from the field in 24.3 minutes per showing. However, the Colorado product faces plenty of competition for minutes in Minnesota and isn't guaranteed meaningful burn.

Timberwolves' Josh Green: Unlikely to crack rotation
Green's future with Minnesota is uncertain following the team's agreement with Jonathan Kuminga.
Green currently sits near the bottom of the depth chart at both forward positions, and the Timberwolves reportedly need to create additional room below the second-apron hard cap before finalizing Kuminga's contract. Timberwolves' Jonathan Kuminga: Heading to Minnesota
Kuminga agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Kuminga spent most of his career in Golden State before briefly suiting up for Atlanta during the 2025-26 campaign. In 294 career regular-season appearances, the 2021 No. 7 overall pick has averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 22.1 minutes. He isn't the most efficient shooter from deep, but he will add more depth to a team that also acquired LaMelo Ball during the offseason. Kuminga might initially come off the bench, though that could change along the way.

Timberwolves' Joan Beringer: Slots in as No. 2 center
Beringer could play an expanded role in 2026-27 after the Timberwolves sent Naz Reid to the Hornets as part of the LaMelo Ball trade.
After logging just 7.9 minutes per game last regular season, the 2025 first-rounder is now slotting in as Minnesota's No. 2 center behind Rudy Gobert now that Reid is out of the frontcourt mix.
