  • Trail Blazers' Bryce McGowens: Hits clutch shot in Rising Stars

McGowens (shoulder) registered two points (1-1 FG) across 3:46 of playing time in Team G League's 25-14 loss to Team C in the final of the Rising Stars event Friday.

McGowens had a far bigger impact during Team G League's 40-39 win over Team M in the semifinals, finishing with 12 points (5-90 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and two steals while hitting the game-winning three to advance to the finals. McGowens had been dealing with a shoulder injury prior to the All-Star break, but that didn't prevent him from participating in Friday's Rising Stars event. The 2022 second-round pick will likely return to the G League with the Rip City Remix following the All-Star break.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Eight points in Rising Stars semis

Camara ended with eight points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and one block in 12 minutes during Team M's 40-39 loss to Team G League in Friday's Rising Stars semifinals.

Camara tallied the second-highest scoring mark on the squad, but Team G League's Leonard Miller went for a team-high 14 points to help put Team M away Friday. Camara has emerged as a key contributor with the Trail Blazers in his second season, starting in each of his 53 appearances. The 2023 second-rounder should remain a stable member of Portland's rotation down the stretch of the campaign, and he's averaging 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.5 three-pointers in 32.3 minutes.

  • Trail Blazers' Jabari Walker: Season-best performance

Walker logged 17 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and two steals across 19 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 132-121 loss to the Nuggets.

With Deandre Ayton (calf) and Jerami Grant (knee) both getting the night off, Walker seized an opportunity for a bigger role and set new season highs in points and boards. The third-year forward has struggled to win a consistent spot in the Blazers' frontcourt rotation, but with Ayton now set to miss at least four weeks and Grant having been sidelined for the last two games, Walker's minutes and production appear to be on the upswing.

  • Trail Blazers' Anfernee Simons: Hits for 26 in Denver

Simons had a team-high 26 points (9-19 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 132-121 loss to the Nuggets.

It's the fourth time in the last five games that Simons has topped 20 points, a stretch in which the 25-year-old guard has averaged 23.2 points, 5.6 assists, 4.2 threes and 2.2 boards while shooting 43.8 percent (21-for-48) from beyond the arc. Scoot Henderson (ankle) wasn't available Wednesday while Jerami Grant (knee) and Deandre Ayton (calf) were both missing from the frontcourt, and Simons' usage could remain elevated if the Blazers continue to play shorthanded.

  • Trail Blazers' Donovan Clingan: Career-best night on glass

Clingan closed with 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 FT), 20 rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 132-121 loss to the Nuggets.

With Deandre Ayton (calf) sidelined, Clingan got the start at center and erupted for a career-best rebounding total. The seventh overall pick in the 2024 Draft has been productive when he gets significant minutes. In 11 starts this season, he's averaged 7.7 points, 10.8 boards, 2.9 blocks and 1.3 assists in just 22.9 minutes a contest. Ayton isn't expected back until mid-March at the earliest, so Clingan has a long runway to pile up strong fantasy numbers.

  • Trail Blazers' Jerami Grant: Out with knee soreness

Grant (knee) is out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.

Right knee soreness will cost Grant consecutive outings and Portland's last game before the All-Star break. The veteran forward has plenty of time to recuperate ahead of his next chance to play Feb. 20 against the Lakers. In Grant's absence against Denver, Kris Murray is a part of the starting lineup and appears to be the direct beneficiary from a fantasy perspective.

  • Trail Blazers' Kris Murray: Active and starting

Murray (quadriceps) is part of the Trail Blazers' starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.

Murray was initially labeled questionable for the contest due to a bruised left quad, but he'll be active and make his first start of the year. Jerami Grant (knee), Matisse Thybulle (ankle) and Robert Williams (knee) have been ruled out, so Murray should be in line for as many minutes as he can handle.

  • Trail Blazers' Robert Williams: Ruled out Wednesday

Williams (knee) is out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.

Williams will miss Portland's final game before the All-Star break Wednesday. The veteran big man's next chance to play comes Feb. 20 against the Lakers. Donovan Clingan should dominate the center minutes against Denver in the absence of Deandre Ayton (calf).

  • Trail Blazers' Donovan Clingan: Starting sans Ayton

Clingan is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.

With Deandre Ayton (calf) out Wednesday, Clingan will join Portland's starting lineup. The rookie first-rounder has averaged 9.9 rebounds, 6.8 points, 2.9 blocks and 0.7 steals in 22.1 minutes across 10 games as a starter this season, granting him boosted fantasy value.

  • Trail Blazers' Deandre Ayton: Re-evaluated in four weeks

Portland announced Wednesday that Ayton has been diagnosed with a left calf strain and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

This is a brutal blow for Ayton and Portland, as this sidelines him through at least March 15th. The Trail Blazers are unlikely to be playing for much by that point, so he could miss additional time. Donovan Clingan will be a popular fantasy pickup in the meantime, and Robert Williams (knee) could emerge with some fantasy value once he gets healthy.

  • Trail Blazers' Kris Murray: Iffy for Wednesday

Murray (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Nuggets.

Murray is in danger of missing his second straight contest Wednesday due to a left quadriceps contusion. If Murray is forced to sit out yet again, Jabari Walker will likely continue to receive increased playing time.

  • Trail Blazers' Robert Williams: Iffy against Denver

Williams (knee) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Williams has missed six of the last eight games for the Trail Blazers while dealing with right knee soreness. The veteran big man has been in and out of the lineup all season and might miss a second straight game Wednesday in Denver. Donovan Clingan will likely play heavy minutes in the frontcourt, especially with Deandre Ayton (calf) already ruled out for this game against the Nuggets.

  • Trail Blazers' Matisse Thybulle: Absence streak continues

Thybulle (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Thybulle is not ready to play Wednesday due to a significant right ankle sprain. As a result, the veteran swingman's 2024-25 regular-season debut won't come until Feb. 20 against the Lakers at the earliest. Thybulle carries no clear timetable for a return, though.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Dealing with ankle sprain

Henderson has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets due to a right ankle sprain.

Henderson exited Monday's loss to the Nuggets with what has now been diagnosed as a right ankle sprain. The second-year point guard's next chance to play will come after the All-Star break against the Lakers on Feb. 20. With Henderson sidelined, Dalano Banton and Shaedon Sharpe are candidates for an uptick in playing time.

  • Trail Blazers' Jerami Grant: Iffy to play Wednesday vs. Denver

Grant (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Grant was held out of Monday's 146-117 loss to the Nuggets due to right knee soreness, but he has a chance to play in Wednesday's rematch. Grant has averaged 16.0 points on 39.7 percent shooting, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocks over 36.2 minutes per game in February.
