Carroll is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.
Carroll started six consecutive games after being activated from the injured list July 5, and he'll get the night off Friday for rest purposes. Carroll went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Padres.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Hitless in return
Carroll went 0-for-5 in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Royals.
Carroll beat the timeline for a recovery from a fractured left wrist and was activated Saturday. There was no easing him back in the lineup; Carroll played right field and was back at his familiar leadoff spot in the order. To make room for Carroll's return, the Diamondbacks optioned Tim Tawa back to Triple-A Reno.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Could return this weekend
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Carroll (wrist) could be activated off the injured list this weekend, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Carroll kicked off a minor-league rehab assignment with Arizona's ACL team Thursday and went 0-for-2 with two walks. The star outfielder initially seemed set for an extended absence after being diagnosed with a chip fracture in his left wrist in late June, but Carroll now appears to be ready to return to the Diamondbacks in short order. Jake McCarthy has been getting most of the starts in right field while Carroll has been out.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Activated from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Carroll (wrist) from the injured list Saturday.
Carroll has been on the injured list with a chip fracture in his left wrist since June 24. After playing a rehab game in the Arizona Complex League and going 0-for-2 with two walks, he's been given the green light to return to the D-backs' lineup. He'll slide right back in as Arizona's primary right fielder, and Tim Tawa will head to Triple-A Reno in order to make room on the active roster.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Starts rehab assignment
Carroll (wrist) began a rehab assignment with the Arizona Complex League Diamondbacks on Thursday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Carroll took dry swings Tuesday, but this is a more significant step in his recovery. He has previously stated his goal was to return before the All-Star break, and this appears to keep him on track to do so. Carroll is eligible to be activated from the injured list Friday, but he seems likely to require a few more games in the minors before rejoining the Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Starting to swing
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that Carroll (wrist) will begin taking dry swings Tuesday, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Carroll is recovering from a chip fracture in his left wrist but is progressing well and will swing for the first time since being placed on the injured list last Tuesday. The outfielder won't be hitting baseballs Tuesday, but it's still a notable step in his recovery program. Carroll is aiming to return to action before the All-Star break, but the ultimate decision will be left up to the Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Growing concern about hand injury
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that the level of concern regarding Carroll's left hand injury is "probably a little higher than it has been over the past couple of days," Casey Drottar of MLB.com reports.
Lovullo and the Diamondbacks are still awaiting results of the MRI on Carroll's bruised left hand, but optimism that the outfielder can avoid the 10-day injured list seems to be waning. The club could have more on Carroll's status after Monday's game against the White Sox. Carroll is out of the lineup for a fifth straight game and hasn't been used off the bench since being hit on the hand by a pitch last Wednesday. However, Lovullo noted before Monday's game that Carroll could be available in "small spurts and small segments," indicating that he may be available to pinch run, per Drottar.

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Placed on IL with fractured wrist
The Diamondbacks placed Carroll on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left wrist.
Carroll suffered the injury on a hit-by-pitch last Wednesday, and while initial tests were negative, subsequent exams revealed the unfortunate news. The Diamondbacks have not offered a timetable for Carroll's return, but the outfielder seems like a good bet to remain out through the All-Star break. Jake McCarthy has been recalled to take Carroll's roster spot and could see starts in right field along with Randal Grichuk.
