Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Works well in planned short outing
Misiorowski allowed a hit and struck out four without walking a batter over three shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Sunday. Per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, this was an intentionally planned short outing for Misiorowski to keep his innings in check ahead of the postseason.
McCalvy adds that Misiorowski is expected to see more regular usage in his last projected start of the regular season at home versus the Cardinals, which will line him up to take the mound during the NLDS. Since the All-Star break, Misiorowski has allowed just 16 runs (15 earned) over 58.1 innings, adding an 80:15 K:BB in that span. For the year, he's at a 1.86 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 247:42 K:BB through 169.1 innings over 29 starts. The good news for fantasy managers is that Misiorowski is expected to have one more start even if the Brewers clinch everything they can before it's his turn to pitch again.

Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Shines in division-clinching win
Misiorowski (15-5) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing five hits and a walk over five scoreless innings in a 5-1 victory over the Pirates. He struck out seven.
With the win, the Brewers clinched their fourth straight NL Central title. Misiorowski hasn't lost a game in over a month, going 4-0 over his last seven starts with a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 48:13 K:BB in 39.1 innings as the 24-year-old right-hander makes a final push to claim the NL Cy Young Award. He seems set to get two more chances to make his case before the regular season ends, with Misiorowski's next outing likely coming on the road this weekend in Baltimore.

Misiorowski struck out nine but did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 6.1 innings against the Cubs.
The flamethrowing righty surrendered a run on two singles and a double during the opening frame but locked in from there, generating 16 whiffs and tossing 64 of 93 total pitches for strikes in his 17th quality start of the campaign. It was a strong rebound from Misiorowski after he surrendered five runs to the Cubs during his previous start last week, while his nine strikeouts ended a run of four consecutive starts with six or fewer Ks.

It was a rare misstep for the National League Cy Young frontrunner, who coughed up a season-high five runs Wednesday. The outing stopped Misiorowski's streak of starts with three earned runs or fewer at 25, and the five punchouts matched a season low as well. Still, he responded well with two scoreless frames after Chicago jumped on him during the first two innings. Misiorowski (14-5) notched the win against the Mets on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.
Misiorowski battled a slick mound at times at wet Citi Field on Thursday, but the rainy conditions didn't stop him from firing six strong innings. The All-Star right-hander extended his streak of quality starts to five, and he's now fanned at least six in all but one of his 25 outings on the year. He's set to take an outstanding 1.73 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 222:35 K:BB over 151 innings into a tough road assignment against the division-rival Cubs.

Misiorowski (13-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Atlanta, scattering four hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.
The 24-year-old right-hander came out on top in a battle of NL Cy Young contenders with Chris Sale. Misiorowski didn't allow a runner to get past second base, and he delivered his fourth straight quality start and 16th of the season on 96 pitches (55 strikes). Over six outings since the All-Star break, he's racked up a 3-1 record with a 1.85 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and dominant 49:6 K:BB over 34 innings. Miz will look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home next weekend against the Rangers.
