The Mets optioned Yan to the Florida Complex League on Saturday.
Yan will lose his place in the bullpen after pitching in each of New York's last two games, during which he allowed three earned runs over 2.1 innings. Chayce McDermott will come up from Triple-A to fill the void in the Mets' bullpen.

Mets' Jefry Yan: Gives up two runs as opener
Yan did not factor into the decision Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.2 innings.
Friday was Yan's first major-league start, though the 30-year-old southpaw put the Mets in a deficit early after giving up a two-run single to CJ Abrams in the first inning. Yan was pulled after recording two outs in the second frame and was replaced by Jonathan Pintaro, the latter of whom ended up taking the loss after yielding three runs in the third. Yan has a 4.87 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 20.1 innings in the majors this season.

Mets' Jefry Yan: Rejoins bullpen
The Mets recalled Yan from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.
He'll grab the roster spot vacated by the injured Daniel Duarte (hamstring). Yan posted a 5.68 ERA and 17:11 K:BB across 12.2 frames in an earlier stint with the big club.

Yan performed well after being called up in early August with three runs allowed in his first nine appearances, but he'll now head back to Syracuse after surrendering five earned runs in his past four outings. Tobias Myers will fill the open roster spot for the Mets.

Mets' Jefry Yan: Serves up walk-off homer
Yan (1-1) took the loss Friday against the White Sox after allowing two runs on one hit and one walk over two-thirds of an inning. He did not record a strikeout.
Yan entered for the ninth inning of a 4-4 game, and after issuing a leadoff walk, he retired two batters quickly before things unraveled. Jake Rogers launched a two-run homer to center field to end the game. It was the first loss of the season for Yan, who saw his ERA climb to 4.26. The left-hander, who made his MLB debut earlier this month, has given up three runs in his first 6.1 innings of big-league work while posting a 7:6 K:BB.

The Mets selected Yan's contract and then optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Yan likely had an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, and the Mets will add him to the 40-man roster to prevent him from leaving. Jefry Yan: Granted release from COL
Yan requested and was granted his release from his minor-league contract with the Rockies on Sunday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Yan signed a minor-league deal with the Rockies in the offseason and posted an inflated 7.28 ERA and 1.88 WHIP with 45 punchouts over 29.2 innings in 27 appearances, including a start, with Triple-A Albuquerque this year. The 28-year-old has yet to make his major-league debut, and he'll look to find another opportunity elsewhere.
