Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Taking swings
Moreno (adductor) hit in a batting cage Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Tuesday marks the first time Moreno has swung a bat since he landed on the injured list Aug. 6 with a left adductor strain. The 24-year-old backstop still isn't expected to return to the big-league lineup until well into September, but seeing him resume activity is certainly a positive sign.

Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Set for extended absence
Manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday that Moreno (groin) is expected to miss several weeks of action, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
Moreno was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain Tuesday, and it appears he'll end up being sidelined for most of August. Moreno's status will receive an update in the near future as the Diamondbacks are awaiting imaging results. Lovullo expressed optimism that the 24-year-old will be able to return before the end of the regular season, but for now it'll be Jose Herrera and Adrian Del Castillo handling catching duties.

Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Bound for IL with groin strain
The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left adductor strain, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
Moreno suffered the injury in Monday's win over the Guardians while legging out an infield single. The severity of the strain isn't known yet, so it's not clear how long he might be sidelined. Adrian Del Castillo has been summoned to handle the catching duties alongside Jose Herrera.

Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Suffers groin strain
Moreno was diagnosed with a left groin strain after exiting Monday's game against Cleveland.
Moreno will likely require a trip to the 10-day injured list following this diagnosis, though it's still too early to determine exactly how much time he'll miss. Jose Herrera is the only other catcher on the 40-man roster, so it looks like the D-Backs will promote either Adrian Del Castillo or Ronaldo Hernandez from Triple-A Reno to serve as the backup catcher until Moreno returns to full strength.

Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Limps off field
Moreno was removed from Monday's game against the Guardians after suffering a leg injury, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
Moreno went down in the top of the second inning after beating out an infield single and was immediately removed from the matchup. He's likely headed for further evaluation to determine the extent of the injury. Jose Herrera would be next in line for chances at catcher if Moreno is forced to miss additional time.
