Braves' Chris Sale: Takes fourth loss Thursday
Sale (8-4) took the loss Thursday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings.
Sale had to work around traffic all afternoon, allowing nine baserunners through the first three innings alone. The 10 hits surrendered were a season high, but the veteran left-hander did an admirable job limiting the damage and held Toronto to just three runs. After recording quality starts in nine of his previous 11 outings this season, Sale was one out away from another before being lifted in the sixth inning. The 37-year-old continues to turn in ace-level results, sporting a 2.23 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 86:19 K:BB across 72.2 innings. He is scheduled to face the White Sox in his next start.

Braves' Chris Sale: Strikes out eight in victory
Sale (8-3) earned the win over Boston on Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight batters over five innings.
Sale labored a bit more than usual, needing 96 pitches to get through five frames. The left-hander had a stretch of seven straight quality starts snapped Thursday, but he was still able to pick up his eighth win of the season, tied for second most in MLB. Sale has had one poor start this year -- he gave up six runs over four innings against the Angels on April 6 -- but he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in his other 10 appearances. Overall, he's posting ace-like numbers, recording a 2.01 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 80:17 K:BB through 67 frames.

Braves' Chris Sale: Dominance continues in win
Sale (7-3) earned the win Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on four hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out eight.
The All-Star southpaw found himself in peak form again Wednesday, generating 18 whiffs en route to fanning at least seven for a sixth consecutive start. Sale has now spun at least six frames while yielding one or no earned runs in eight of his 10 outings on the year. He'll take a career-best 1.89 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 72:14 K:BB over 62 innings into his next appearance, which tentatively lines up to come in Boston against the Red Sox.

Braves' Chris Sale: Takes tough-luck loss Thursday
Sale (6-3) took the loss against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing an unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.
Sale was excellent Thursday, with the only run against him coming as the result of an error in a hitless sixth inning. However, Atlanta's offense was shut down by five Chicago pitchers, so that unearned run was enough to tag Sale with his second straight defeat. Despite the loss, Sale lowered his ERA to a sterling 1.96, which ranks ninth in MLB among qualified starters. The veteran lefty has complemented that excellent mark with a 0.91 WHIP and 64 strikeouts -- both of which also rank in the top 10 -- over 55 innings spanning nine starts this year.

Braves' Chris Sale: Goes seven innings in loss
Sale (6-2) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over seven innings, taking the loss versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Sale's four-start winning streak came to an end in this battle between early leaders in the National League this season. This was also just the second time in eight starts Sale has given up more than one run, with both of those instances coming in Southern California. Sale has a dominant 2.20 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 56:12 K:BB across 49 innings over eight starts this season. The southpaw will look to bounce back in his next start, which is projected to be at home versus the Cubs.
