On Tuesday, there was a report that Warriors coach Mark Jackson forced the reassignment of assistant Brian Scalabrine, which also revealed some other strife on Jackson's coaching staff.
But wait, there's more: The report also said Jackson had looked around the league at other jobs, specifically with the Clippers and Nets.
On Thursday, Jackson denied basically all of it, via CSN Bay Area:
Warriors coach Mark Jackson on Wednesday strongly denied reports that he showed interest in other coaching jobs around the league in recent months.
"Not true," he said after practice.
The report also covered Jackson's issues with his assistants, and that he didn't talk to former assistant and now Kings head coach Mike Malone for three weeks.
"I'm not going to comment on everything," Jackson said. "First of all, Mike Malone commented and said that his part was a lie. So there you have that. Second of all, it’s poor reporting by Wojnarowski if you decided and knew this to hold on to it until (Tuesday). That's blockbuster stuff.
"So, not true. None of it was true. I'm not going to go any further. This is my job and I'm thrilled to death to be the head coach of the Golden State Warriors."
Jackson and the Warriors haven't had near as successful a season as they hoped, riding different waves of peaks and valleys. They sit at 44-27 and sixth in the West, but only a game and a half in the postseason.
There has been reported tension within the Warriors for a while, some between Jackson and players (Andrew Bogut, specifically) and some of it with his staff and front office personnel. But Jackson says it's not true, which is what you'd expect him to say.
