  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Absent from lineup

Perez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Freddy Fermin will start behind home plate and bat seventh in the Royals' regular-season finale. Unless Perez comes in to pinch hit Sunday, he'll end the regular season with a slash line of .271/.330/.456 with 27 home runs and 104 RBI across 651 plate appearances.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Goes yard in Friday's win

Perez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 8-3 win over the Pirates.

Perez provided a big knock with a homer in the second inning to cap a six-run rally. He's hit safely and driven in at least one run in five straight contests, posting two homers and eight RBI in that span. The catcher is up to 27 long balls, 103 RBI, 57 runs scored, 27 doubles and a .280/.342/.482 slash line through 145 games this season.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Reaches 100-RBI mark

Perez went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Yankees.

Perez has six RBI over his last three games. That surge of run production has made him the sixth player in the majors this year to reach the 100-RBI threshold. For the year, he's at a .277/.337/.475 slash line with 26 home runs, 27 doubles, 56 runs scored and no stolen bases over 143 contests. With Vinnie Pasquantino (thumb) out through the end of the regular season, Perez has picked up more time at first base. He's played enough at catcher (83 games) and first base (43 games) to retain eligibility at both positions entering 2025.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Four hits, homer

Perez went 4-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI singles during Monday's 10-4 loss to the Yankees.

Perez entered Monday's game 4-for-40 in his last 11 outings but burst out of the slump in extravagant fashion. The 34-year-old launched his 26th home run of the season and reached safely in all four at-bats. Perez is slashing .275/.335/.474 with 98 RBI and 56 runs in 2024.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Huge day in twin bill

Perez went 5-for-7 with two walks, two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored and six RBI across both games of Monday's doubleheader sweep of the Guardians.

The veteran slugger was behind the plate for the first game and DH'ed in the second, but Perez tore the cover off the ball no matter what his defensive responsibilities were. Both long balls came in the nightcap, as he launched a solo shot off Logan Allen in the fifth inning to snap a 4-4 tie before destroying a Tim Herrin curveball in the sixth for a grand slam. Perez has reeled off three straight multi-hit performances, boosting his August slash line to .302/.361/.616, and the 34-year-old is up to 25 homers on the season -- the fourth time in his career he's reached that threshold.
