Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Not listed on injury report
Newsome (hamstring) was not included on the Jaguars' injury report Thursday.
Newsome was traded to Jacksonville on Wednesday after spending the first four-plus seasons of his career in Cleveland. The cornerback was considered to be a limited participant at the Browns' practice Wednesday, but he now appears to be a full go ahead of his first contest with the Jaguars. Newsome will likely operate in a starting role in the team's secondary Sunday versus Seattle.

Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Dealt to Jacksonville
The Jaguars acquired Newsome (hamstring) and a 2026 sixth-round pick from the Browns on Wednesday in exchange for cornerback Tyson Campbell and a 2026 seventh-round pick, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Newsome, who is in the final season of his rookie deal, had been popping up in trade rumors with the 1-4 Browns seemingly in the midst of a non-contending campaign. He'll now join a Jaguars defense that leads the league with 10 interceptions and 14 total turnovers forced. Newsome has three career interceptions across 59 games and delivered his best season in 2023, when he picked off two passes and was credited with 14 pass breakups.

Browns' Greg Newsome: Still nursing hamstring injury
Newsome (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Newsome entered Week 5 as questionable due a hamstring injury, but he was cleared to play against the Vikings and finished with six tackles (four solo) and one pass defense while playing every single defensive snap. He's still working through the injury, but unless he logs a DNP over the next two practices, Newsome is on track to play against the Steelers on Sunday.

Browns' Greg Newsome: Plays full game
Newsome recorded six tackles and one pass defensed in Week 5's 21-17 loss to Minnesota.
Newsome entered the game as questionable due to a hamstring injury, but he was on the field for all 65 of Cleveland's defensive snaps. He has 23 tackles and three passes defensed through five games. Newsome has shown slight improvement in the areas of coverage and reception percentage coming off a down year, but he's in the final year of a contract and the 1-4 Browns may shop him.
