  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Locks down four-out save

Megill earned the save in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Twins, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings. The Brewers turned to Megill in the eighth inning after Jared Koenig allowed a pair of two-out singles following a Ty France homer that cut Milwaukee's lead to 9-8. Megill struck out Jonah Bride before working around a Harrison Bader one-out double in the ninth inning to pick up his 17th save this year. Megill's converted his last five save chances, allowing one run while striking out 10 in that span (5.1 innings). His ERA sits at 2.70 on the year with a 1.31 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB across 26.2 innings.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Secures 16th save

Megill earned the save in Thursday' 8-7 win over the Cubs, allowing one walk with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning. Megill was summoned to protect a one-run lead in the ninth and worked around a leadoff walk to close things out on 16 pitches. The 31-year-old has now converted nine saves in his past 10 appearances, with the lone exception being a blown save June 7. On the season, he's 16-for-18 in save chances with a 2.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Shaky in 15th save

Megill secured the save in Sunday's 3-2 win against St. Louis, allowing two hits with three strikeouts in a scoreless inning. The Milwaukee closer labored a bit in this 29-pitch appearance, as the first two batters he faced reached via singles. However, Megill recovered to punch out the side, including fanning both Victor Scott and Masyn Winn with runners on second and third to wrap up the contest. Despite being unsteady over his past seven appearances with a 5.14 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, Megill is firmly cemented in the closer's role thanks to a 10.7 K/9 through 24.1 total frames.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Holds on for 14th save

Megill picked up the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals, giving up one run on two hits and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out two. Although Megill has already amassed four saves in June, he's now surrendered at least one earned run in three of his last six outings. The hard-throwing right-hander has still been able to convert five of his six save chances during this span, so he should still have a pretty strong grip on Milwaukee's closing gig. On the season, Megill sports a 3.09 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB while going 14-for-16 in save opportunities over 23.1 frames.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Battles for 10th save

Megill picked up his 10th save during Monday's 3-2 victory over the Red Sox, allowing one run on one hit and three walks. It wasn't pretty, but Megill was able to get the final three outs of the Brewers' Memorial Day victory to cash in on his ninth straight save opportunity and 10th overall this season. He needed 34 pitches and walked three batters along the way -- a shock considering he had walked three batters combined in his 10 other appearances in May. It was the first time the 31-year-old surrendered an earned run since late April, a span of 12 appearances.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Notches ninth save

Megill allowed a hit and no walks while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Sunday in Pittsburgh. The veteran right-hander has successfully converted his past seven save chances and has given up just one earned run across his last 12.2 innings. The last week has been especially busy for Megill, as he's recorded four saves since May 18. After having some trouble with walks early in the year, Megill has issued just two free passes in his past nine outings.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Puts out fire for save Thursday

Megill picked up the save in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Pirates after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out one. It was a spotless inning of work for Megill but not for the Brewers, who saw Carlos Rodriguez give up two earned runs in the frame. Megill allowed one of those runs to come across via a groundout, but it was still his 10th consecutive outing without being charged with an earned run. The hard-throwing right-hander has strengthened his hold on Milwaukee's closing job after a rocky beginning in 2025, having converted each of his last six save chances while posting a 0.93 ERA and 9:4 K:BB across his last 9.2 innings.

The Milwaukee right-hander showed no signs of trouble in this 14-pitch outing, firing 11 strikes to smoothly collect his 27th career save. Megill is riding a streak of seven consecutive scoreless appearances, notching four saves with an 8:3 K:BB over six innings during that span. Through 13.1 total frames, the 31-year-old has pitched to a 2.70 ERA and 17:7 K:BB across 17 appearances.

Megill earned the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Rays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning. Megill was called upon to protect a 4-2 lead in the ninth and did so on just 13 pitches. Since blowing his first save April 12, the 31-year-old has converted four straight chances while yielding only one run over nine appearances. On the season, he owns a 3.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB across 11.1 innings while securing five saves in six opportunities.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Secures fourth save

Megill earned the save against the Astros on Tuesday, tossing a perfect ninth inning while picking up a strikeout. Megill retired the side on just six pitches while ending with a three-pitch strikeout on Brendan Rodgers. Tuesday was his first time throwing a full inning without allowing a baserunner since April 1. He's allowed one run over his last seven appearances while converting all three of his save opportunities over that span.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Converts second save

Megill recorded the final two outs to earn the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics. Bryan Hudson began the ninth inning but allowed three of the first four batters to reach base. Megill allowed an inherited runner to score on a sacrifice fly before inducing a groundout from Shea Langeliers to end the threat. This was Megill's second save in three chances this season, though his last opportunity ended in disaster when he blew a save versus the Diamondbacks last Saturday. Megill is now at a 4.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB over 6.1 innings this season. He has a loose grip on the closer job for the Brewers, in large part due to an ongoing issue with his knee.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Available to pitch

Megill (knee) was available to pitch Sunday versus the Diamondbacks and Monday against the Tigers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill imploded Saturday in Arizona and it was revealed that he had recently undergone an MRI on his knee and would be seeking a second opinion. Evidently, he has checked out well enough to pitch. Megill had pitched well prior to struggling in his last appearance and remains at the top of the Brewers' bullpen hierarchy. However, he's a bit of a health red flag right now.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Getting knee scans evaluated

Megill is set to receive a second opinion on his knee this week after recently undergoing an MRI, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill got his knee checked out a few days earlier, but he wasn't shut down after the MRI came back clean, and he proceeded to pitch in both of the Brewers' first two games of their series in Arizona this weekend. Though he struck out two and allowed one walk in a scoreless inning in Friday's 7-0 win, Megill unraveled in Saturday's 5-4 loss, blowing a save chance and recording just one out while giving up three earned runs on two hits and three walks. After the disastrous performance, Megill is getting examined again as a precaution, but the right-hander didn't use the injury as an excuse for the blown save while speaking to the media Sunday. He'll presumably remain available for Sunday's series finale, though the Brewers will probably look to stay away from him after he tossed 37 pitches over the past two days.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Underwent MRI on knee

Megill recently underwent an MRI on his knee, but it came back clean, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill pitched in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks but allowed two hits, three walks and three earned runs while recording just one out in the bottom of the ninth inning before taking the loss. He hadn't been scored upon in his first five outings of the season prior to Saturday's disaster. For now, Megill has been cleared to pitch, but it's something worth monitoring in the near future.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Implodes in loss

Megill (0-1) took the loss and a blown save in Saturday's 5-4 defeat against the Diamondbacks. He allowed three runs on two hits and three walks in one-third of an inning. Megill only managed to record one out, which came on Lourdes Gurriel's game-winning sacrifice fly, after allowing five consecutive batters to reach safely. Megill hadn't allowed a run in 4.1 innings prior to Saturday, giving up just two hits and one walk while striking out eight in that span. Despite the rough outing, the 31-year-old Megill figures to remain the primary ninth-inning option for the Brewers.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Locks down first save of 2025

Megill gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his first save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Reds. Getting his first save chance of 2025, Megill looked amped up when he struck out Gavin Lux, the first batter he faced, on three pitches. With Devin Williams now a Yankee, Megill is set to be the main man in the Brewers' bullpen -- a role in which he amassed 21 saves last season while the Airbender was sidelined with back trouble. Through his first 3.1 innings this year, Megill has a 0.00 ERA and 6:0 K:BB.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Reaches deal for 2025

Megill agreed to a one-year, $1.94 million contract with the Brewers on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. The 31-year-old was in his first year of arbitration eligibility and should enter spring training as the favorite for saves after the Brewers traded closer Devin Williams to the Yankees last month. Megill tallied 21 saves and six holds with a 2.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB across a career-high 46.1 MLB innings during the 2024 regular season.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Gives up walk-off grand slam

Megill (0-3) took the extra-inning loss Wednesday versus the Cardinals, allowing four runs (three earned) on a hit and two walks over two-thirds of an inning. Megill got the last out of the ninth inning, but he loaded the bases with one out in the 10th and Nolan Arenado cashed in for a walk-off grand slam. This was Megill's first appearance since July 23 after he missed four weeks with a back injury. The right-hander has a 3.15 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 40:10 K:BB over 34.1 innings this season. He added 20 saves, two blown saves and three holds while functioning as the closer in the first half, but Devin Williams is in that role now, so Megill will likely fill a setup role.
