    How many times can the Spurs be disrespected? The Knicks are favored in this game?!? Weren't the Thunder the best team in the NBA? And what did the Spurs do to them? Hand them their second loss of the year, with Victor Wembanyama back in the lineup and being effective. I see the same result in this NBA Cup title game. Give me the Spurs on the money line.

    Analysis

    Jacksonville State's most glaring advantage is the combination of the nation's elite rushing attack and Troy's historically poor run defense. Cam Cook leads all of college football with 1,659 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, with Jacksonville State ranking 4th nationally in rushing offense at 258.2 yards per game. The Trojans rank 112th in rushing yards allowed per game at 182.3 yards, and their rushing defense ranks 115th overall at 4.8 yards per rush allowed. The Gamecocks are better in the trenches and have three wins against quality fellow Bowl teams. Troy mostly beat up on weak Bowl teams, and they will be without starting RB Tae Meadows. Jacksonville State ranks 6th in consistency, while Troy checks in at 50th. My model has JS winning outright.

    Analysis

    BYU is again being asked to chop lots of lumber in Provo, but results in recent weeks suggest the Cougs are up to the task. Competent recent visitors to the Marriott Center like Cal Baptist and UC Riverside have been run off the court as BYU has made it back into the top ten, fueled by last week's wild comeback win vs. Clemson at the Jimmy V Classic. Super frosh 6-9 AJ Dybantsa (20.9 ppg) is more than living up to the hype, and the Cougs kept extending the lead vs. UCR on Saturday as they hit 59% from the floor. Meanwhile, though UOP might be competitive at its own level in the middle of the WCC, matchups don't look promising here. Play BYU

    Analysis

    As Queens plays at only one speed--fast--the Royals might as well have Lando Norris as coach. The Formula 1 style preferred by Grant Leonard puts up lots of points (85 pg) but gives them up just as fast (86 pg), and Queens is even less inclined to touch the handbrake against power conference opposition, most recently throwing caution to the wind on Sunday at Wake Forest. The result was a 111-73 loss, the fourth time in six games that someone in a Queens game hit the century mark.     Analysis

    The San Jose Sharks return home from a 5-game, eleven-day road trip where they were outshot in four games. San Jose is ranked 32nd in shots allowed and has the worst shot differential in hockey at -240. The Flames are ranked 18th in shots against with a +43 shot differential. In high-danger chances, Calgary is +14 while San Jose sits at zero. Calgary has beaten the Sharks seven straight times, including a 36-17 shot advantage back in October. San Jose is dealing with injuries to Will Smith (29 points in 33 games) and Philip Kurashev after both left the game following their biggest comeback win in franchise history against the Penguins. I like the road team in this spot.
