  • Nate McCollum: Let go by Arizona

The Cardinals waived McCollum on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

McCollum caught on with the Cardinals in early August after being let go by the Seahawks in June. He didn't see a target over the Cardinals' first two exhibition games but saw more opportunities in Saturday's preseason finale against the Raiders, finishing with two catches on as many targets for 17 yards. McCollum will have the chance to sign with a team if he clears waivers, and he could remain in Arizona to be a part of the team's practice squad.

  • Cardinals' Nate McCollum: Gets chance with Cardinals

    Arizona signed McCollum on Saturday.

McCollum signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in May but was waived in early June. He'll now get a look from the Cardinals after the team placed Quez Watkins (undisclosed) on injured reserve. McCollum is a long shot to make Arizona's final roster, but he'll have a chance to make his case for a spot on the team or the practice squad throughout the remainder of training camp.

The Seahawks waived McCollum on Wednesday.

Seattle needed the roster spot to sign undrafted rookie TE Mitch Van Vooren. McCollum also went undrafted out of North Carolina in April. He'll try to find work elsewhere ahead of training camp.
