Lightning's Brandon Halverson: Dropped to AHL
    3m ago

Halverson was returned to AHL Syracuse on Monday, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.

Halverson has been the backup goalie behind Andrei Vasilevskiy in the last four games. If Jonas Johansson (lower body) remains unavailable after the 4 Nations Face-Off, Halverson could rejoin the Lightning. The 28-year-old Halverson has a 12-7-7 record with a 2.20 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 26 AHL appearances this season.

Lightning's Dylan Duke: Shipped down to minors

Duke was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday.

With the Lightning off until Feb. 23 versus the Kraken for the 4 Nations Face-Off, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see Duke headed down to the minors during the break. In his two NHL games this year, the 21-year-old center notched one goal on one shot and five hits while averaging 7:52 of ice time. Duke is far from a lock to be recalled ahead of the matchup with Seattle and likely will play the bulk of his games in the minors this year.

Goncalves was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday, according to Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.

Goncalves has one goal, seven points, 30 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 25 hits in 33 NHL outings this season. He has three assists over a three-game point streak and five helpers in his last six appearances. Goncalves will likely be back with the Lightning after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Konecny wasn't on the ice with Team Canada for Monday's practice due to an illness, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Konecny has until Wednesday's matchup with Sweden to get back to 100 percent. If it's deemed more serious, the 27-year-old winger could also be dropped from Team Canada's roster ahead of Monday's 5 p.m. EST deadline, though that seems unlikely. The Ontario native heads into the 4 Nations Face-Off on an upswing, having ended a nine-game goal drought with his tally against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Canadiens' David Savard: Ends point drought with assist

Savard logged an assist and two blocked shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Savard had gone 14 games without a point following his return from an upper-body injury. He snapped the drought on offense with a primary helper on Christian Dvorak's second-period tally. Savard won't put up a lot of offense, instead serving as a shutdown defenseman in a bottom-four role this season. He's at 11 points, 122 blocked shots, 39 hits, 35 shots on net, 26 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 50 appearances.

Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Slides power-play helper in loss

Newhook provided a power-play assist in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Newhook has heated up to begin February, earning a goal and four assists, including three power-play helpers, over his last five games. The forward had just four points in January and has struggled to consistently produce offense throughout the campaign. He's now at 18 points (four on the power play), 74 shots on net, 60 hits and a minus-15 rating through 56 appearances in a second-line role.

Canadiens' Christian Dvorak: Deposits goal in loss

Dvorak scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Dvorak has two goals over five outings in February, putting him one point shy of matching his output from all of January (14 games). For the season, the defensive forward has six goals, 17 points, 70 shots on net, 50 blocked shots, 27 hits and a minus-14 rating over 56 appearances. He should be able to get back to the 20-point mark after injuries prevented him from doing so in 2023-24, but his offense is too low to help in most fantasy formats.

Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek: Good to go

Michael Russo of The Athletic reports Sunday that Eriksson Ek (lower body) will officially represent Team Sweden in the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Eriksson Ek, along with Wild teammates Filip Gustavsson and Jonas Brodin, will take on Team Canada in the first game of the international tournament Wednesday. Eriksson Ek will most likely be heavily relied upon in the defensive zone considering the plethora of talent that he'll go up against. The left-shot center has struggled on offense with just 23 points in 41 games in 2024-25, but his defensive acumen will be vital for Sweden.

Eyssimont ended a six-game point drought when he helped out on Zemgus Girgensons' goal in the second period. The 28-year-old Eyssimont was a scratch for a couple of games recently, and he's unlikely to see anything more than middle-six minutes since he hasn't been very consistent on offense this season. He's at eight points, 88 shots on net, 74 hits, 42 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 51 appearances in 2024-25.

Slafkovsky notched an assist in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.

Slafkovsky was good in January with eight points over 14 outings, but he turned cold to begin February on a four-game drought. He was able to snap the slump Sunday when he helped out on a Christian Dvorak tally in the second period. Slafkovsky is up to 30 points, 71 shots on net, 121 hits and a minus-10 rating over 53 appearances. He is on pace to fall short of the 20-goal and 50-point marks he achieved in 2023-24, making this a disappointing third campaign for the No. 1 pick from 2022.

Hagel had a hand in the opening and closing tallies Sunday, setting up Nick Paul's first-period goal and adding a secondary assist on Anthony Cirelli's empty-netter. This was Hagel's third multi-point effort in his last six games, a span in which he has six goals, five assists and a plus-12 rating. The winger is up to a stellar 62 points (seven on the power play, six shorthanded), 159 shots on net, 43 hits, 42 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a plus-24 rating over 55 appearances. His career high in points is 75 from the 2023-24 regular season, and it's very much in reach. The goal was Hedman's first since Jan. 14, and he was limited to eight assists over the 12 contests in between tallies. DeSimone ended an eight-game point drought with the helper. The 30-year-old blueliner is up to four assists, 16 shots on net, 10 hits, nine blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 14 appearances since Utah claimed him off waivers from the Devils. DeSimone has less competition for playing time now that Utah lost Vladislav Kolyachonok on waivers to the Penguins, leaving the Hockey Club with just three healthy right-shot blueliners. Olli Maatta could shift over to his off side if head coach Andre Tourigny wants to get Juuso Valimaki a look, but DeSimone should continue to play regularly until Robert Bortuzzo (lower body) or Sean Durzi (shoulder) can suit up.

Montembeault dropped to 18-21-3 with a 3.00 GAA and an .897 save percentage over a career-high 42 appearances. Ingram was injured in the first period, forcing Vejmelka to play well over half of this contest after the latter was left out to dry in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Hurricanes. Vejmelka did a decent job under heavy pressure, though he allowed a pair of goals in the third period to let the Capitals force overtime.
