Spain's La Liga is now entering its crucial last phase of action with three potential winners of the league as FC Barcelona are currently leading the standings, with Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid following the side coached by German manager Hansi Flick. Barcelona have showed to be the most consistent team across the season so far, but Real Madrid are still in contention with two months left before the last matchday. On May 11 the two teams will meet again in Barcelona for the last El Clasico of the La Liga season, which could potentially decide the winning team of the 2024-25 campaign (although before then they will meet in the Copa del Rey final as well).
Atletico Madrid, despite a strong season, are currently behind and unlikely to win the title after making some big moves in the summer of 2024, especially the one for Argentinian striker Julian Alvarez, who moved from Manchester City to the team coached by Diego Simeone. Barcelona decided to appoint former Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick, who started a new era at the club and can potentially win the Treble with the Blaugrana in his first season in charge, as FC Barcelona are still in the race to win the Copa del Rey where they will meet Real Madrid in the final on April 26 and the UEFA Champions League as well. Flick's team will face Borussia Dortmund in the two-legged quarterfinals starting Wednesday, April 9 (as always you can catch all the Champions League action across Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo Network and CBS Sports Network).
Real Madrid are still one of the best teams around Europe, as Ancelotti's side are also in the race in all the competitions they are currently playing. After signing French star Kylian Mbappe as a free agent in the summer 2024, the Blancos were able to put together all the stars together, especially the former PSG striker with Brazilian striker Vinicius Jr. Let's take a closer look at the schedule for the upcoming weeks:
