South Carolina vs. Florida updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Carolina vs. Florida football game
The Florida Gators and the South Carolina Gamecocks will face off in an SEC East clash at 3:30 p.m. ET on October 14th at Williams-Brice Stadium. Florida is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Florida made easy work of Vanderbilt and carried off a 38-14 win. With that victory, Florida brought their scoring average up to 26.8 points per game.
Florida got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Montrell Johnson Jr. out in front who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Arlis Boardingham kept the secondary busy, picking up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, South Carolina found themselves the reluctant recipients of a 41-20 punch to the gut against Tennessee two Saturdays ago.
Mario Anderson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Anderson's rushing score was no short dash either: it was a 75 yard sprint in the third quarter.
Florida's victory lifted them to 4-2 while South Carolina's defeat dropped them down to 2-3.
Florida will be fighting an uphill battle on Saturday as the experts have pegged them as the two-point underdog.
Everything came up roses for Florida against South Carolina when the teams last played last November as the squad secured a 38-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Florida since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
