Predators' Justus Annunen: Loses goaltending duel in overtime
Annunen stopped 20 of 21 shots in Saturday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Kings.
Annunen was dialed in, matching Darcy Kuemper throughout regulation. The Kings got the lone goal from Quinton Byfield at 3:20 of overtime, sending Annunen to an unfortunate defeat, his fourth in six outings despite his best performance in that span. For the season, the 25-year-old netminder is at 14-9-1 with a 3.04 GAA and an .890 save percentage over 26 games between the Predators and the Avalanche. The Predators return home to face the Blues on Tuesday, which is likely to be a start for Juuse Saros, but their back-to-back set next weekend should afford Annunen another chance to start soon.

Predators' Justus Annunen: Expected to start Saturday
Annunen is set to start on the road against the Kings on Saturday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.
Annunen stopped 17 of 19 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime victory over Chicago in his previous start last Saturday. He's 14-9-0 with a 3.15 GAA and an .888 save percentage in 25 appearances between Colorado and Nashville in 2024-25. Los Angeles ranks 18th in goals per game with 2.86.

Predators' Zachary L'Heureux: Activated from IR
L'Heureux (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
L'Heureux appears available to return from a 12-game absence and could play against the Kings on Saturday. He has compiled four goals, 13 points, 56 shots on net, 143 hits and 52 PIM through 45 appearances this season.

Predators' Andreas Englund: First scratch with new team
Englund was scratched for Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
Englund had played in 10 straight games for the Predators after he was plucked off waivers from the Kings. Part of that was due to the Predators needing to dress seven blueliners while having only 11 healthy forwards on the roster, and that changed with Michael Bunting (abdomen) coming off injured reserve Friday. For now, Englund will likely be in competition with fellow waiver claim Jordan Oesterle for the last spot on the blue line, though the defensively shoddy Justin Barron could also be at risk of a scratch in the last few weeks of the season. Englund has just one goal, no assists, 11 shots on net, 36 PIM, 43 hits and 23 blocked shots over 21 appearances this season, and it seems likely he'll get back in the lineup against his former team Saturday.

Predators' Brady Skjei: Bags power-play assist in loss
Skjei logged a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
Skjei set up Jakub Vrana's first goal for Nashville at 4:25 of the third period. With three points, including two power-play helpers, over the last four games, Skjei is in a bit of a groove while handling a workhorse role on the first pairing for the Predators. The veteran defenseman is up to 24 points, 124 shots on net, 66 blocked shots, 45 hits and a minus-11 rating through 65 contests.

Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Slides power-play helper Friday
O'Reilly logged a power-play assist in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
O'Reilly continues to have a strong March -- he has two goals and five assists over seven contests this month. The center helped out on a Jakub Vrana tally in the third period, which earned O'Reilly his first power-play point since Feb. 8 versus the Sabres. For the season, the 34-year-old O'Reilly has 42 points (13 on the power play), 119 shots on net, 58 blocked shots and a minus-19 rating over 62 appearances in a top-six role.

Predators' Jakub Vrana: Gets first goal with new team
Vrana scored a power-play goal on four shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
The tally was Vrana's first goal in three outings with the Predators since he was claimed off waivers from the Capitals. The 29-year-old has largely held onto a bottom-six role, though he may be pressured for playing time once Zachary L'Heureux (upper body) is ready to return from injured reserve. Vrana has eight goals, 12 points, 34 shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-6 rating over 29 appearances in 2024-25.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Slips up in low-scoring loss
Saros stopped 13 of 15 shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
The Predators nearly doubled up the Ducks' shot total (29-15), but the goal column didn't reflect it. Saros allowed one tally off a turnover to Troy Terry, and a little playmaking magic from Trevor Zegras to Alex Killorn produced the decisive goal. The 29-year-old Saros saw his three-game winning streak snapped despite the light workload Friday. He's at 16-26-6 with a 2.92 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 49 appearances this season. He'll likely get a breather Saturday, as Justus Annunen should start versus the Kings to close out this back-to-back set that wraps up Nashville's road trip through California.

Bunting (abdomen) was activated from injured reserve Friday, indicating he'll return to the lineup versus the Ducks, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.
The Predators now have 12 healthy forwards on the roster, assuming Bunting is able to make his team debut Friday. The 29-year-old figures to play in a middle-six role, though it's possible he is eased back into action following an appendectomy. Prior to getting traded to Nashville, he produced 29 points in 58 appearances with the Penguins.

Bunting has yet to suit up for the Predators after being acquired via trade from Pittsburgh at the deadline. Prior to getting hurt, the winger was mired in a 10-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 25 versus the Flyers, registering two assists and 20 shots over that stretch.

Blankenburg notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Blankenburg is starting to see a larger role with the power play, and he's earned a helper in that situation in each of the last two games. He's up to 10 points (two on the power play), 57 shots on net, 45 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-10 rating over 42 appearances this season. It's not his most productive campaign -- that would be his 14-point effort over 36 outings in 2022-23 -- but Blankenburg is emerging as a key part of the Predators' defense as he works toward securing an NHL job for next season.

Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Earns power-play assist in win
Svechkov notched a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Svechkov has a helper in each of the last two games, and this was his first power-play point since Jan. 23, which was also a game in San Jose. The 21-year-old center is filling a third-line role at even strength while also picking up time on the second power-play unit, which could boost his offense down the stretch. Svechkov is up to 11 points (four on the power play), 49 shots on net, 24 hits and a minus-11 rating over 34 appearances this season.

This was Skjei's first helper since Jan. 31, and he has earned a goal and an assist over his last three outings. The 30-year-old blueliner is up to 23 points (six on the power play), 121 shots on net, 34 PIM, 66 blocked shots, 45 hits and a minus-10 rating through 64 appearances. Skjei continues to fill in on the top pairing and first power-play unit in the absence of Roman Josi (upper body), who has no clear timeline to return and could be shut down given the Predators' low place in the standings.

Predators' Kieffer Bellows: Scores game-winner Tuesday
Bellows scored a goal, added two PIM and logged two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Bellows' first goal in nearly two years turned out to be the game-winner. It was also his first point in seven appearances with the Predators this season, all of which have come since Feb. 25. Between trades and injuries, Nashville's forward group is thin, though Bellows could lose his place in the lineup once both Michael Bunting (abdomen) and Zachary L'Heureux are healthy enough to play. In addition to his goal, Bellows has recorded 11 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-3 rating.
