Top Blackhawks News

  • Blackhawks' Sam Rinzel: Sent to minors

Rinzel was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Thursday.

Rinzel potted a goal in his recent three-game stint with Chicago, averaging 22:52 of ice time. Overall, the 21-year-old has two goals, seven assists, 28 hits and 36 blocked shots over 31 NHL appearances this season. Rinzel should be recalled when the NHL returns to action after the Olympic break.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Gets no help in Wednesday's loss

Knight stopped 16 of 19 shots in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to Columbus, with the Blue Jackets' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Chicago apparently got an early start on its Olympic break, as the offense was a no-show in Columbus, and the defense let the Jackets buzz around Knight for most of the game. The 24-year-old netminder has allowed at least three goals in six straight starts, going 2-3-1 over that stretch with a 3.11 GAA and .872 save percentage, and a few weeks off will probably be beneficial for him.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Done for game

Dach (undisclosed) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jackets.

Dach was ruled out prior to the start of the third period. The 23-year-old forward will get the Olympic break to rest and recover, as the Blackhawks' next game is Feb. 26 versus the Predators.

  • Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Departs Wednesday's game

Kaiser sustained a lower-body injury and won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jackets.

Kaiser put little weight on his left leg after getting tangled up with Zach Werenski in the first period. The 23-year-old Kaiser will have the whole Olympic break to recover, but that may not be enough if further evaluations reveal a significant injury.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Starting against Columbus

Knight will defend the road crease against Columbus on Wednesday, Jack Bushman of Chicago Hockey Now reports.

Knight returned to the win column Monday against the Sharks, and he'll draw a third consecutive start during the Blackhawks' final game before the Olympic break. Over 11 starts since the beginning of January, he's gone 6-4-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .906 save percentage. He made a home start against the Blue Jackets on Friday and turned aside 22 of 25 shots (.880 save percentage) in a 4-2 loss.

  • Blackhawks' Nathan Behm: Shows off playmaking skills

Behm registered five assists in WHL Kamloops' 11-1 win over Victoria on Tuesday.

With the showcase of playmaking, Behm became the third WHL skater to hit 70 points this season. He has 28 goals and 42 assists over 48 appearances, including two goals and eight helpers during a four-game point streak. The Blackhawks prospect has stepped up this season. He has already surpassed the 66 points he had in 59 regular-season outings in 2024-25 before he was selected 66th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Foligno: Slated to play in Columbus

Foligno (undisclosed) is expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Columbus, CHGO Sports reports.

Foligno has missed back-to-back games after getting hurt Thursday in Pittsburgh, but he'll more than likely avoid missing Chicago's final matchup prior to the Olympic break. The veteran forward has provided two goals, 10 points, 76 hits and a plus-2 rating while averaging 12:55 of ice time through 32 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Dishes pair of assists

Dickinson notched two assists and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Dickinson has three helpers over his last four games. The 30-year-old center has a total of 13 points, 50 shots on net, 45 hits, 33 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 42 outings. He posted 16 points in 59 contests last season, so he's scoring at a slightly better pace in 2025-26. Dickinson remains in a shutdown role in Chicago's middle six.

  • Blackhawks' Sam Rinzel: Finds twine Monday

Rinzel scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Rinzel is getting a chance to play in a top-four role and on the power play while Artyom Levshunov sits out to work on his skills outside of game action. This was Rinzel's second game back in the lineup after he was demoted to AHL Rockford in early December. The 21-year-old is up to two goals, nine points, 45 shots on net, 33 blocked shots, 26 hits and 30 PIM over 30 appearances in the NHL this season. It's unclear if Rinzel will hold onto a regular role following the Olympic break, though he may be able to down the stretch if the Blackhawks deal away defensemen at the deadline.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Tallies opener on power play

Bedard scored a power-play goal and added two PIM in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Bedard has scored in three straight games, though this was his first power-play point since Jan. 10 versus the Predators. The 20-year-old has five points over his last four outings. He's up to a total of 23 goals -- matching his 82-game total from last year -- and 53 points in just 43 contests. He's added 142 shots on net, 32 PIM and an even plus-minus rating.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Murphy: Two points against San Jose

Murphy scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

The veteran blueliner potted Chicago's second goal of the night before helping to set up Ryan Donato for the game's final tally. It was a rare offensive outburst for Murphy, who has four goals and 12 points through 56 games with 82 blocked shots, 53 hits, 51 shots on net, 46 PIM and a minus-3 rating.

  • Blackhawks' Ilya Mikheyev: Four-point effort Monday

Mikheyev scored a goal and added three assists in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Chicago's third line dominated the night, as Mikheyev, Ryan Donato and Jason Dickinson combined for three goals and 10 points. Mikheyev has found a groove over the last couple of weeks, racking up three goals and nine points in the last eight games, but on the season, he's managed just 11 goals and 23 points in 51 contests.

  • Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Erupts for four points in win

Donato produced two goals and two assists in Monday's 6-3 win over San Jose.

At least for one night, Donato rediscovered his 2024-25 form. The 29-year-old hadn't had a multi-point performance since Jan. 1, and through 56 games, Donato has managed just 13 goals and 25 points, a huge regression after he delivered a career-high 31 goals and 62 points in 80 games last season.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Cruises to win Monday

Knight made 24 saves in Monday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Chicago built a 4-0 lead before Knight finally saw Will Smith snap a puck past him midway through the second period. The 24-year-old netminder has faded a bit over the last couple of weeks, giving up at least three goals in five straight starts while going 2-2-1 with a 3.11 GAA and an .877 save percentage.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Foligno: Unavailable Monday

Foligno (undisclosed) won't play against San Jose on Monday, per Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News.

Foligno participated in Sunday's practice, but he will miss his second straight game. Still, it's unclear if he will be ready to return against Columbus on Wednesday. Foligno has earned two goals, 10 points, 26 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and 76 hits across 32 appearances this season.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Starting against San Jose

Knight will start Monday's home game against the Sharks, Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News reports.

Knight has been in a bit of a skid over the past week, going 0-2-1 with 10 goals allowed on 72 shots over his last three starts. However, he'll attempt to right the ship against the Sharks, who are scoring 3.09 goals per game this year, which is tied for 17th in the league.
