Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Reaches 20-goal mark
McLeod scored an empty-net goal on five shots and added two assists in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Flyers.
McLeod earned a point in each period, setting up linemates Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka before burying his empty-netter. That proved to be a vital insurance goal, as the Flyers brought the game back within one a few seconds after McLeod scored. It was a career year across the board for McLeod -- his 53 points matched his combined total from the previous two seasons. He ends with 20 goals, 33 helpers, 97 shots on net and a plus-13 rating across 79 appearances. He'll need a new contract as a restricted free agent this summer, and he's likely due a big raise from his previous $2.1 million cap hit.

Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Three-game point streak
McLeod scored a goal Saturday in a 4-3 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

He continues to build on new career marks in goals (15), assists (21) and points (36). McLeod's 21.4 shooting percentage is well above his career average (13.9), so his goal pace will slow. McLeod set up a Tage Thompson tally in the second period. This was McLeod's second game back from missing three contests due to an upper-body injury. Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Playing against Oilers
McLeod (upper body) will be in the lineup versus Edmonton on Saturday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
McLeod will make his return to the ice following a three-game stint on the shelf due to his upper-body injury. It's not immediately clear where the 25-year-old center will line up, as he was filling in on defense at practice Friday for Rasmus Dahlin, who was taking a maintenance day. Regardless, McLeod is unlikely to take on a top-six role, more likely slotting in as the third or fourth-line center, which will limit his offensive upside.

McLeod scored a goal and added two assists in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
After helping to set up Jack Quinn for a pair of first-period tallies, McLeod wrapped up the scoring with a fluky goal midway through the second period -- he fired a pass toward a streaking Zach Benson, only for the puck to deflect off Thomas Chabot's leg and go top shelf over Anton Forsberg. It was McLeod's first multi-point performance since Dec. 9, and the 25-year-old center snapped a 23-game goal drought in the process. On the season he's collected seven goals and 21 points in 42 appearances, putting him on pace to top the career-best 30 points he produced in 2023-24.
