Islanders' Travis Mitchell: Heads to waiver wire
Mitchell was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Friday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
Mitchell signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders in mid-July, so this isn't much of a surprise. Mitchell, who has yet to play a game at the NHL level, had four goals, nine assists and 101 PIM across 65 appearances with AHL Bridgeport during the 2024-25 regular season. He will see action once again with Bridgeport, should he clear waivers.

Islanders' Travis Mitchell: Signs two-way deal
Mitchell inked a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Islanders on Monday, according to PuckPedia.
This is a two-way deal for Mitchell, who is likely to spend most, if not all, of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Bridgeport. The 25-year-old defenseman accounted for four goals, 13 points, 101 PIM and a minus-22 rating over 65 appearances in the minors last season.

Islanders' Travis Mitchell: Heading back to AHL
Mitchell was returned to AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Mitchell was recalled by the Islanders last Wednesday but didn't make his NHL debut during his week with the big club. He'll head back to the minors, where he's tallied a goal and three points over eight appearances with Bridgeport to begin the year.
