Stauber was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Thursday.
Stauber has a 2-1-1 record, 2.23 GAA and .925 save percentage in four appearances with Utah this season. Connor Ingram (upper body), who was with Tucson on a conditioning stint, has rejoined the NHL squad. Stauber will likely remain in the minors for the rest of 2024-25 unless Utah once again needs another goaltender due to an injury.

Hockey Club's Jaxson Stauber: Receives little help in loss
Stauber allowed three goals on 37 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Oilers. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Stauber took his first regulation loss of the season, but he put in a decent performance against a tough opponent. He's allowed nine goals on 120 shots over four appearances, good for a .925 save percentage. Stauber continues to see limited time behind Karel Vejmelka, and his NHL time could be coming to a close soon since Connor Ingram (upper body) began a conditioning loan with AHL Tucson on Tuesday. Utah doesn't have another back-to-back until Jan. 23 and 24, and it's likely Ingram will be healthy by then. Stauber is waivers-exempt, so Utah won't have any trouble getting him back to the AHL.

Stauber will guard the road goal against the Oilers on Tuesday, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.
Stauber will get the second half of Utah's back-to-back after Karel Vejmelka played in Monday's 5-2 loss to Seattle. The 25-year-old Stauber has allowed only six goals on 83 shots en route to a 2-0-1 record in three NHL appearances this season. Edmonton ranks 10th in the league with 3.25 goals per game in 2024-25.

Stauber stopped 26 of 30 shots in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Ducks.
Stauber was tagged with the loss in a game that was decided on a shootout, where he gave up the decider to Mason McTavish. Stauber has yet to be defeated in regulation this season, going 2-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA and a .928 save percentage in three appearances. That said, his fantasy upside shouldn't be very high even if the numbers (in a small sample) are impressive, as he'll remain in the backup role behind Karel Vejmelka, and he'll likely be demoted to AHL Tucson once Connor Ingram (upper body) is ready to return.

Still, Stauber appears to be a reliable streaming option for whenever he might get the nod. Utah plays just four times over the next 10 days, so he's unlikely to see more than one start in that span, and he may not see any since he's played only in back-to-back situations so far.

Stauber earned his first career shutout and has won six of seven NHL appearances. He impressed in a short stint with the Blackhawks in 2022-23 but spent all of 2023-24 with AHL Rockford. Utah had been reluctant to give Stauber a start since Connor Ingram (upper body) landed on injured reserve, but it appears that cautious approach was misguided. Karel Vejmelka has seen a heavy workload recently, and Utah doesn't have another back-to-back until next weekend. It wouldn't be surprising if Stauber got to start Saturday versus the Sabres or Sunday against the Flyers if Ingram hasn't been cleared to return.
