Tsyplakov scored a goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Boston.

The 26-year-old rookie continues to look comfortable in a top-six role. With Mathew Barzal (upper body) and Anthony Duclair (leg) both having missed all of November, Tsyplakov has seen a regular shift on the second line with Brock Nelson and turned the opportunity into two goals and eight points over 13 games on the month while adding 42 hits, 18 shots on net and a plus-3 rating.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Nabs power-play helper

Tsyplakov registered a power-play assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blues.

Tsyplakov ended a four-game point drought when he set up Brock Nelson's second-period tally. While he's now 10 games removed from his last goal, Tsyplakov has four assists and 13 shots in that span, so he's getting his looks. The second-line winger is up to two goals, nine assists (two on the power play), 29 shots on net, 58 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-4 rating through his first 21 NHL outings.

The 26-year-old winger is at 10 points, 22 shots on net, 48 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-4 rating over his first 16 NHL appearances. He had 31 goals and 47 points over 65 games in the KHL in 2023-24, so he may still have some untapped potential if he can find a better finishing touch.

Tsyplakov has yet to create a point streak, but he's been fairly steady with two goals, seven helpers, 19 shots on net, 45 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 15 appearances this season.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Back on scoresheet in win

Tsyplakov generated a goal and a helper in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Sabres.

In addition, Tsyplakov compiled two shots, one block, eight hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in 15:01 of ice time. The 26-year-old could be a valuable depth addition to fantasy managers seeking production across multiple categories. The left-shot forward is filling a top-six role and getting time on the power play in his first NHL season after coming over from the KHL. Tsyplakov is up to two goals, five assists, 10 PIM, 16 shots, 33 hits, three blocks, three takeaways and a plus-3 rating through 11 games.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Sets up two goals Saturday

Tsyplakov delivered two assists in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Panthers.

Tsyplakov was credited with assists in two of the Islanders' three first-period goals, setting up Kyle Palmieri and Brock Nelson, but he's been struggling to make an impact as a scoring weapon. Even though he has four assists over his last six appearances, the 26-year-old Russian winger hasn't scored since the season-opening loss against Utah on Oct. 10, and to make things even more worrisome, he's taken just one shot over his last six appearances. Tsyplakov needs to find a way to take more risks as a scoring option for the Isles, because otherwise, his fantasy upside will continue to trend in the wrong direction.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Scores in NHL debut

Tsyplakov scored his first career NHL goal in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss against Utah.

Tsyplakov looked fairly comfortable in his first game on North American ice after coming over from the KHL. The 26-year-old offered two shots, six hits and a plus-1 rating in 20:46 of ice time to round out a solid fantasy performance. Tsyplakov is an intriguing player to keep an eye on given his physical play and promotion to New York's second line. The Moscow native also replaced Kyle Palmieri on the top power-play unit during the contest, so the former is clearly gaining head coach Patrick Roy's trust early on in the season.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Bags power-play goal

Tsyplakov scored a goal (on three shots) and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 preseason win over the Rangers.

Tsyplakov was outstanding in the power play, as both of his goal contributions in this "Battle of New York" came with the man advantage -- he set up Bo Horvat's goal in the final minutes of the first period and later gave the Isles the lead with less than a minute to go in the second frame. Tsyplakov had 31 goals and 47 points in 63 regular-season contests with the KHL's Moscow Spartak in 2023-24, and based on what he's shown in the preseason, he's expected to have a role as a top-six forward for the Isles once they begin their regular-season play against Utah on Oct. 10.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Back at practice

Tsyplakov (lower body) participated in Sunday's practice, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

Tsyplakov should be an option for Monday's preseason contest versus Philadelphia after leaving Friday's 5-1 win over New Jersey late in the third period as a precaution. If the line combinations from Sunday's session remain unchanged, he would skate on the second line in Monday's contest.

  • Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Exits late in Friday's game

Tsyplakov (lower body) was held out late in the third period of Friday's preseason game versus the Devils for precautionary reasons, Ethan Sears of the New York Post reports.

Tsyplakov was tripped earlier in the game and was likely having his minutes managed after that. The 26-year-old's injury is probably minor given the precautionary label. He'll be day-to-day ahead of Monday's game versus the Flyers.
